It’s only value is as a bad example. While tropical birds chirp in the background, Bukele calmly justifies his human rights abuses. His facts are sometimes correct, if you believe his own official reporting. What he leaves out of his murder counts are the deaths at the hands of his police and military as they round up the “bad” guys and puts them in prisons with no legal process.
The two of them throw up their hands and can’t figure out why anyone would want to provide rights to these criminals instead of to the people that those criminals were killing and raping. The question that Tucker doesn’t know to ask, or knows and doesn’t ask, is, are they indeed criminals?
But this is the logic of an authoritarian and Tucker buys into it. I’m only at 20 minutes, but I doubt it gets better.
Right. I should have included that. If we base who gets rights on who is innocent then we leave an opening for this type of bad logic to be used. Human rights apply evenly or they don’t work at all.
I don’t have the time to watch the video. I don’t know what news sources you are using. But from what I have heard over the last several years. There was a war going on against the gangs. And now what I hear you say is that you think that there should be court proceedings for actions of war. Civilian courts don’t necessarily follow or have standard legal protections for soldiers for actions of war. In such a small country it is hard to follow the ideas of what we (American’s) think of as appropriate.
A double check with AI says. AI - The gang crackdown is officially known in El Salvador as the “State of Exception”. Salvadoran president Nayib Bukele and his government have described the crackdown itself as a “war” (guerra) and also refer to it as the “War Against the Gangs”.

That he described it as a war is all you need to know
And again. IF you accept their numbers, he’s doing great. If you count police actions and military turned on civilians as murder, maybe not doing so great. This type of authority rarely lasts, so we’ll see.
Killing an enemy soldier on the battlefield during a war is not generally considered murder under international law and the rules of war. Killing enemy soldier during a war is not generally considered murder under international law and the rules of war. This is in a gray area. But so are half the wars in Africa.
As far as how long the existing government will last. Will mainly depend on a dozen common factors.
Let’s compare El Salvador to the EU. If El Salvador eradicates the gangs. Then you have a chance for a government by the people. The EU on the other hand is losing their ability to have a government by the people in a slow process, that may take a couple generations. So, who is really better off?
As the United States is now getting rid of it’s technocratic authority. The EU has been embracing and growing its technical authorities since 2013. As far as the USA. If we had to choose between El Salvador or the EU. We would be better off with El Salvador in the long run.
Point Being. There always seems to be some type of war going on. Whether it be an army war, Cold War, economical war, bio war, etc.
Did WWII not teach us anything about declaring authoritorian war against a social or religious order?
The term “gang” is not synonymous with a social order that needs to be protected.
A gang is by definition at war with social order.
Types of Gangs
There are several types of gangs, each with its own characteristics and areas of operation:
Street Gangs: These are typically formed by youths in urban areas and are known for street fighting and gang warfare2.
Mafia: Infamous for activities like racketeering and overseeing illicit agreements. Examples include the Sicilian Cosa Nostra and the Italian-American Mafia2.
Narco Gangs: Primarily involved in the illegal drug trade. Examples include the Medellin Cartel and the Sinaloa Cartel2.
Biker Gangs: Motorcycle clubs that conduct illegal activities. Examples include the Hells Angels and the Bandidos2.
Prison Gangs: Formed inside prisons for mutual protection and criminal activities2.
You are just forgetting something: when an authoritarian leader comes to power, every one who opposes him is seen as a criminal.
Trump wants to prosecute anyone who opposes him.
If he prosecutes them out from the due process of law, he deprives them from their rights.
And if you believe that Trump and his cronies are going to give back the power to the people, you are very gullible.
He is working for the billionaires and GAFAM owners.
And what you call returning power to the people actually constitutes the systematic destruction of everything that protects the health, well-being, and environment of American citizens.
For example, he shut down services that protected American citizens from financial fraud.
I don’t call the planned destruction of the National Health Service in favor of promoting quack medicines the restoration of power to the people.
But all this constitues a gift to the rich people and to the crooks, not forgetting tax cuts for them.
Do you know who opposed trump for presidency? Where are they now?
I guess the measurement for that would be transparency.
Well how did Tesla do? If you look at what’s going on in Congress. It looks like the Republicans are wanting to break the tech monopolies apart. It is the Democrats who want to keep the tech in power.
Who’s trying to let the public know what went on with COVID? Who is trying to do health prevention instead of letting the big medical take care of a sick country?
The way I see it. The working man was paying for other people’s college loans. Is that not financial fraud?
You need better sources. AI - Overall, the trend suggests Americans are becoming less healthy compared to other high-income countries. Life expectancy in the U.S. is lower than in many other comparable nations, and the U.S. has higher rates of preventable and treatable deaths.
Are you running for office? Common knowledge is when trump was in office last time it was the working middle class who got richer. How did taxing the billionaires in France workout. I heard it was a disaster.
Yes, I’ve been called out on many conspiracy theories. Just to name a few. The COVID coming from the Wuhan lab. The Biden laptop being real. And several times the point of no return being false on climate change. Our borders are safe. Jan 6th was not an insurrection. The Ukraine war was not started in 2014. But much earlier in the Donbass by the actions of the US State Department. 2014 was where we pushed Putin to help the Donbass with military forces. If you ever change your mind on any of these items. It’d be morally correct to say so. I remember when you got into conspiracy theory. The democratic party was using conspiracy theory as a way to cover up issues instead of facts.
Again your statement is nothing more than a political viewpoint that I would expect to hear from AOC.
I do agree with you on AI. As I’ve said before, I think we’re five years away from AI being reliable. I’ve mentioned this before that it must be looked at as a consensus. The way climate change is looked at is nothing more than a consensus.
I am 100% for AI. But we really need to keep the government away from changing any of the AI data. Example, the first thing I heard on the news this morning. Was how the Biden White House was changing Biden’s remarks for history. God knows we can’t let the facts get in the way of history. That was from Judicial Watch. It looks like they will sue the government to try and force the history of what Biden said. Be really what Biden said.
Let’s view the milk issues. We are talking about a department that significantly caused the lack of baby formula in 2022. A department that knew about the potential problems but failed to conduct an official inspection for several months. While a series of severe illnesses were hurting our babies. The FDA has acknowledged that its policies for handling complaints, recalls, and infant formula inspections were inadequate and needed improvement.
Restructuring the department is no doubt the best move. In 2022 the Biden administration introduced the diversity action plans in the FDA. Is it possible the DEI was more important than the baby’s? Was the department too busy implementing racist policies that it took months to respond to dying babies?
The fact that the trump administration had to lay off 20,000 employees at the FDA. Tells me there was a really big problem going on at the FDA. The trump administration needs to fix or rebuild the departments. To eradicate the racist administrative methods embedded in these departments.
I find it hard to believe the FDA with 18,000 employees cannot check the milk. Of course 64% of the employees have home work agreements. It may be hard to check the milk at home.
Had to lay off 20,000 employees at the FDA? For what cause?
Were all these people incompetent, even as the requirements for working in those departments required minimum scholarships?
What is the number one goal for the trump administration to get done so they can move America forward. And that is pretty simple.
The United States government has been running two systems of management. The Republic method of government along with the technocratic form of government. A congressman laid it out pretty simple. He said that Congress that year had passed laws and legislation that equaled 1 inch of paperwork. But the technocratic form a government had passed laws and regulations that equaled 27 feet of paperwork.
On June 28th, 2024 The US Supreme Court struck down the Chevron doctrine. This basically ended the power of the technocratic form of government in America. So how do we get the technocratic form of government out of the departments after forty years of developing?
Not an easy job. Trump is trying to do that as fast as he can. So, he can get on governing in a Republic pathway. Those who have gotten fat from the technocratic government along with the departments are fighting tooth and nail to stop trump from implementing the Republic form of Constitutional government.
To answer your question. The Soviet Union also had two forms of government. The communist system and a technocratic system. An example would be a postman. Why use a postal truck when you can hire four people to walk. It creates more work for four more employees. In an age when office workers have been reduced by new technology. The number of office workers has decreased in the private sector. Why are they increasing 7% in the governmental section?
Items like DEI, Environmental, labor compensation standards, clean energy, and on and on. Who is creating these laws that you have voted for? For every one law your representative passed. An estimate of 324 regulations were passed by people you did not vote for in your technocratic government.
