The Repugs have been so much more persistent, targeted, organized and effective with underhanded anti-democratic tactics over the years.
If they donāt stop these shenanigans, some Dems may say something negative about them.
But seriously, thanks for posting this, in case there are some people who donāt know about it.
The Republican motto has long been, āIf you canāt beat 'em, cheat 'emā. I remember 20+ years ago a Republican state representative who I used to work with once told me that he believed that only landowners should have the right to vote. He said it was to make sure that those who voted had a āvested interestā in the country. In reality itās a Republican voter suppression wet dream. āYou must be this rich to vote in this election.ā
Republican seem to have gotten totally committed to a strategy focused on creating contempt for our constitutional government, and doing all they can to increase voting day chaos along with empowering wackos to freely intimate and harass election workers. Itās out in the open and everyone knows it, but it seems to be shrugged off. Like Americans have turned into a bunch of automatons.
Isnāt there supposed to be some sort of pendulum pulling us back toward a norm? Or is all that out the window, as our society devolves into a MAGA LORD OF THE FLIES* mess? Why are there so few Republicans who care about democracy and the Will of the People anymore? Or is it all an inevitable outcome of our general inability to look at the other side of the coin? Or to care about whatās under the facade?
- The moral is that the shape of a society must depend on the ethical nature of the individual and not on any political system however apparently logical or respectable ."
Yeah, and they are ramping it up, by adding in: āIf you canāt beat 'em, harass 'em, then cheat 'emā.
Republicans Are Suing for the Right To Harass Election Workers
By Marc Elias - April 22, 2024 - DemocracyDocket.com
ā¦ Nevada recently enacted a new Election Worker Protection Law to combat the increasing threats faced by election workers. The law, which passed the Legislature unanimously and was signed by the Republican governor, makes it a crime āto use or threaten or attempt to use any force, intimidation, coercion, violence, restraint or undue influence with the intent to interfere with the performance of the duties of any elections official relating to an election; or retaliate against any elections official for performing duties relating to an election.ā
Shortly after the law was enacted, the Republican Partyās failed 2022 attorney general candidate ā who is currently a Republican National Committeewoman ā filed a lawsuit to block the law. Her argument is that the law violates her First Amendment rights and is too vague to understand.
Meanwhile in Arizona, right wing organizations, including America First Policy Institute founded by former Trump aides, are suing to block the anti-harassment provisions of the stateās Election Procedures Manual from going into effect. Among the provisions they find objectionable are those that prohibit:
Any activity by a person with the intent or effect of threatening, harassing, intimidating, or coercing voters (or conspiring with others to do so),
Aggressive behavior, such as raising oneās voice or taunting a voter or poll worker,
Using threatening, insulting or offensive language to a voter or poll worker,
Following voters or poll workers coming to or leaving a voting location, including to or from their vehicles,
Questioning, photographing or videotaping voters or poll workers in a harassing or intimidating manner, including when the voter or poll worker is entering or leaving the polling location.
It is not only election officials that right-wing groups want to be able to harass ā it is also voters. In Minnesota, an anti-voting outfit ironically called the Minnesota Voters Alliance is challenginga law that prohibits making statements that intend āto impede or prevent another person from exercising the right to voteāā within 60 days of an election.
A political party that shamelessly spreads election denialism is capable of worse. ā¦

Polls are looking awful for Biden. Panic button about to be smashed
Depends on which polls you look at. If you look at a poll on a right wing website, of course it looks bad for him, but if you look at a poll else where, you will probably see a different result.
NYT recent poll
Some of those margins in swing states are massive. Nevada by 12 points to trump after Biden won this 4 years ago by 2 points
Do you think thatās a good thing?

A Jan. 6 rioter has advanced to the House GOP runoffs in Georgia. MSNBCās Ari Melber reports.
Hereās a curious side story to underscore the utter GOP disregard towards our US of Americaās Constitution.
Is Alito going to recuse himself?
Of course not, he Godās own warrior seemingly dedicated to bring down the USA. Ah to have a direct line to God, donāt that make the Republican special?

I always thought that was a sign of insanity.
