I am no computer expert but have you checked some of the variables that may result in “rounding errors”, such as encountered with taxes, or possible in partial inventory counts on bulk priced items? They are easily spotted because the difference is usually small but may trigger an error warning.

As to the error code itself, that is beyond my expertise, but I ran across this:

How do I fix error code 6190 and 816 in QuickBooks?

You’ll get error codes -6190 and -816 when another user is logged in to the company file in a single user mode. There are several solutions we can try to resolve this.

Let’s first make sure that your QuickBooks release is up-to-date. Then, rename the ND and TLG files to repair the company damaged data files.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the folder that contains your company file.
  2. Find the files with the same file name as your company files but with extensions.ND and.TLG.
  • company_file.qbw.nd
  • company_file.qbw.tlg
  1. Right-click each file and select Rename . Add the word OLD at the end of each file name. Ex: company_file.qbw.nd.OLD
  2. Open QuickBooks again and try to sign in to your company file.

If the same issue occurs, proceed to solution 2.
