Billionaires want the GOP to take a blow torch to America’s government and all regulations (something that is plain STUPID. Like any healthy system can operate without regulations guiding it) now MAGA is chomping at the bit, waiting for their green light to unleash their war on America.

The great billionaires hostile takeover of our government is reaching a crescendo, are American voters going to be stupid enough to hand it to them?

Is this the best centuries of blindly worshipping the God of Progress is going to achieve for us?

Why? Is it our inability to look at the dark side of progress & personal greed, or is it simply that blinding greed and gluttony tripping us up? The refusal to seriously consider any other needs but one’s own.

Do philosophers have any role to play in all this, like do they have any duty toward society and clarifying difficult realities, or is all that just a private club, doing its thing for the good of the club in isolation to any greater real world issues and challenges?

If so, where are they? What are they offering?

No one’s told me who to vote for. As soon as I heard Kamala was running, I was gung-ho for her and glad when a celerity agreed with me. I already had my my made up many moons ago.

Says the guy that made it cool to disregard a USA citizen’s duty to vote, to get informed and be engaged. Nah, toss in the towels kids, be cool, the game is rigged, there’s partying to be had. Don’t give it a second thought. It’s all rigged against ya, why bother? What a self fulfilling prophecy.

We had this idea that winning the World War meant we fixed everything, that we had it all figured out. It’s the narrow view of history from a young country. I didn’t understand the warriors of my youth who said “freedom isn’t free” but I think I’m starting to.

Look at a place that has gone through empires, religions, reformations and counter reformations, and come out as a leader. We can be that.

Look at the conditions our Earth is in, here in 2024.

Look at our over population, full of societies with nothing but growing hatred for each other.

This is another example of how we are too wrapped up in our imaginations, and disconnected from reality unfolding in front of our eyes, that I’m poking at.

What built those empires? Conquest and exploitation, with little concern from the fall out.

How is anything going to change without recognizing our failures.

Eventually the bill comes due.

Well there is that.

We do need to function in our day to days and get on with life as constructively as possible.
Especially now, living one’s life as best we can, people have always faced rough and ugly times. Guess it’s our turn.

But, man, but it’s tough sometimes, being aware of all we’ve lost, especially being aware of the creep these past decades, and watching my worse fears played out in front of us, …

That’s why it’s good to have a safe place to vent, … yada yada

Then we find our center again, reaffirm the connects that matter, live one’s day according one’s creed, love those we love as if there’s no tomorrow, and so on.
