Is 5 years a long time in the live of someone

I would say that :

  • when you are young it is an eternity
  • when you are middle aged, it is short
  • when you are old and look at the past, it is short
  • when you are old and look at the future, it can be very long

Oddly enough, time hasn’t sped up for me and I’m almost 60. I’ve been married for nine years and it feels like 20, even when I look back. Everything seems like it was forever ago and everything in front of me seems like a long time. It takes forever to get to things I’m excited about and I’m not depressed. Sometimes I wish things were short.
