Immigration is bad because...

I know what “skin in the game mean", I said it was a bizarre of you to use it. My ethnicity, or whatever you’re getting at is irrelevant. I’m as WASP as they come, FYI.
What you quoted is exactly what I thought confused you about citizenship. You’re taking “born in America" to mean “rights to everything in America and the right to keep others out". You have the right to want that policy, but it’s never been the policy. It’s a world economy, get used to it.
If you’re just going to keep dismissing whatever I say or link, there isn’t much of a conversation here. You provided one link, and the data behind it was the same as mine. I don’t think any one link settles anything. And I never said “boon", I said overall positive. Krugmann didn’t refute that. Nor did I play a race card. The issue involves people from other countries. Their ethnicity is a mix of indigenous people and ancestors of the early Europeans who came to the Americas. That just is what it is.
I’ve already covered the “breaking the law" argument. In 1976, Mexicans were doing exactly what they are doing now, except it was legal. The law changed in 1977 and I think that was a bad law. We live in a free country, so I’m allowed to say that.

Yes, it does, but your arguments imply that there is only one simplistic view--that everything bad is the fault of liberals. You might try taking your own advice about thinking before you shoot your mouth off. But I guess that's too much to hope for. Lois
We're talking about illegal immigration here Lois, not "everything bad". Don't confuse what you gather from your reading comprehension versus what my arguments imply. Please! Last time I checked there weren't too many Conservative Voters(Voters! Let's see if you can understand that concept...) that were pleading for illegal immigrant rights and amnesties. Hence I don't really have to argue against too many conservative talking points right now, do I? Nobody's arguing here from the Conservative point of view...the small Conservative Bloc who wants a steady supply of cheap, exploitable labor. Did you notice that? Nobody is denying that a small minority of Conservatives(who want a cheap source of labor) have duped the vast conservative constituency. I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but the vast conservative voter constituency shares the same views as you and I on immigration. Are you aware of this? Did you possibly think that the vast majority of conservative Americans want the illegals here because they are a cheap source of labor? Just answer this part for me please, so we can clear this up. I'm well aware of the fact that both liberals and conservatives are in favor of illegal immigration for different reasons. Whatever anyone's reasons are, we have and will continue to have illegal immigration into this country--unless we have universal amnesty. Conservatives will continue to want a good source of cheap labor and liberals have knee-jerk responses to anyone's sob story. That adds up to open borders and everything that that entails. Lois

Here get ready Lausten, I'm going to dismiss more of what you say. It's never been policy? It is policy right now. It's law right now, It has been policy in various ways and laws since the late 1700s. Every nation on the Planet has laws to keep numbers(no more than a certain number of guest workers for example) and types(no criminals for example) of non-citizens out. It's a great little system. Is it ok if I dismiss that statement of yours Lausten? You constantly just fabricate quips and falsehoods at every turn. And as an American Citizen I have the rights to vote for these policies through a political process and support them with taxes. I don't need to have the right to want those policies. They already exist! Are you aware of US Immigration Laws? Did you know they exist? We have to take it down to this level with you Lausten. Novice level. As long as you keep using the "flood the airways with tons of BS and some of it will eventually stick" method I'm going to keep dismissing your garbage. For every Bill Moyers and Economist X you can find that says Illegal Immigrants fart out Rose Petals and make the US a Peachy Keen place to live, I can find just as many Policy wonks and Economist Ys to counter you. To be honest nothing interest me more than to learn what makes people tick. I have tried vicariously to figure out your angle here and your place in this. Like I alluded to earlier, nothing baffles me more, or irritates me more than when I discover people are behind issues purely for issues sake. Left or Right. The Right is full of that kind of crap. If you bought into this whole thing because of some "plight of the downtrodden" rap or some such thing you are sadly out of touch.

I realize everyone has limits, but you want more limits than we currently have. Me, and a lot of other people, including John Boehner, want less. We covered this way early in this thread.

You might want to try one of those links I recently provided for Lois for starters. Like this one]

You keep saying you can do that, but you never do. You're basically just a bully. Bullying tactics don't really work on discussion forums unless you are talking to someone who lacks confidence in their position.
