I would think you would prefer the wordsmithing of AI over mine. Is it that AI is harder to counter?
The Chevron doctrine creates departmental laws. And that is what the people are upset with. People are worried about our production and distribution of goods for example. And big government is terrible at taking care of the people.
Example, the private sector-built hundreds of public chargers, the government spends billions of dollars for just a handful of charging stations.
Big government uses welfare and defense contracts to shore up the economy. By streamlining the government, we should be able to reduce poverty and wars.
Republicans voted for the bill, so they could say they are bipartisan and pro-green, then choked off funding and blamed Biden for delays because they don’t care about anything except winning elections and making their friends rich
I am not going to argue with you about that. You’re right. Republicans have been no better than Democrats. Let’s get rid of the swamp and get back to the basics.
Trump has more or less hijacked both parties and thus the entire system. As noted, he did not win by being popular, he won by being less unpopular. And by the way, pointing out that racism exists does not make one part of the problem, it makes one clear-minded.
If this election outcome is in fact a rejection of identity politics, what that really means is a rejection of anyone who is non-white. It also helps to be male. In other words, the ultimate identity won. Trump has spent the past decade making it clear that white men still have the power in this country and they do not intend to relinquish it.
There is no sense denying that the American electorate has been brainwashed over generations to see the two major parties as their only true choices in a Presidential election. Rare is the election where another candidate makes a dent in the outcome, and this race was not the exception.
We must certainly count those who did not vote. What message were they sending? The easy answer is “Neither of these candidates motivates me.” The hard parts are understanding why that is, and determining what to do about it.
There is also no sense denying that the United States, and almost certainly the western world, is about to face a radical realignment between the ruling class and the population.
What matters now is preparing the population to reject both major parties in future elections and turn those elections into true referendums on how government can best serve the people.
We’ve spent far too long looking at that question from the wrong side.
Though if you’ve read any of my other posts you know I believe that recognizing our inability to look at the ugly, self-destructive side of progress, is near the top of the list.
It matters because Earth can’t handle it.
That’s the other thing that really needs to change, the communal disregard for our dependence on complex natural systems.
Facing the fact that the future demands that we learn to do with less, the billionaire dream CG images of perfect mega projects and communities are about as real a Bugs Bunny cartoons.
Distinguishing between fantasy and reality is another fundamental, without which not much else can find the foothold to foster change.
Problem is we’ve become tremendously top heavy, I fear we’re too slow in learning.
I mean what the hell is the world doing back in a 1938 state of mind.
How’s that going to work with the kinds of MAGA fanatics we’ve handed our fragile democracy over to?
I thought I understood that. What I am referring to is the vote against the “oligarchy”. To me the oligarchy is not Trump but the power controlling the Democrats.
Dictionary - Definitions from Oxford Languages
Oligarchy - a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution.
a country governed by an oligarchy.
All I am saying is the Oligarchy is the Democrats, not Trump.
Was it not an oligarchy that decided Biden could not run and Kamala could, without being elected to run? That seems to be the word on the street. Only understanding party politics, a little and Biden’s claim of intraparty taking place. And according to the Democratic Party Charter & Bylaws the National Convention shall be the highest authority of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Delegates only had one nomination for president after Biden dropped out. Kamala Harris or undecided was their only choices. That is just to third world or communist for my liking.
Why is DC controlled by big money, big companies, big law firms, lobbyists. Why is it that government departments don’t answer the House’s request for data? Why is it that congress wrote laws last year that stacked up to be two inches high. But the departments wrote laws that stack up to be twenty-seven feet high. Our constitution is meant to be by the people and for the people.
The problems we are having today started in 1984 by a supreme court ruling. That ruling was overturned by a 6-3 Supreme Court vote on June 28, 2024. All we need to do is back the people in both parties that will get us back to constitutional law. The court has taken power away from big government departments. All we need to do is get rid of big governments puppets and take back the power that is ours.
I think a lot of people understand this and see Trump as being willing to fight to help us get our nation back.
I hear you. I worded that post in a bad way. Trump is definitely part of the oligarchy, although a different oligarchy than democrats. At this point Trump’s oligarchy looks better and was able to reach more people.
Anyone we have as president is forced to act as an oligarchy to be able to work with the people who run the country. They are the rich, corporations, worldwide law firms and most important the departments. 28M rich, 60M work for large corporations, 23M employed by departments. All organized and represented by 108,000 lawyers.
That adds up to be 111,108,000 people out of 162M working people. A fact that is known to all is how this quasi union operates in their own best interests.
Projects are taken on that cost hundreds of millions to billions of dollars that fail. Wars are started that cost more billions, that accomplish nothing except feeding the swamp. What does the working and retired American get from this. Devalued dollars, inflation, and the requirement to work until death under a overburden of regulations that takes the fun out of life.
What makes us a great nation is our constitution, control of the world’s largest safe haven currency, and our morals and wisdom.
In 1984 we lost control of our constitution. In 2024 we got our constitution back. Now the quasi union is unhappy about losing control of our constitution and have even talked about changing the Supreme Court to get it back. They of course figure they will still be in full control because you and I are just to dxxx stupid to figure out what is going on. And if they must, they will just buy us like a student loan.
Obama and Biden grew the swamp. Our hope is Trump will reduce the swamp.
Only due to its widespread propaganda effort. Actual delivery on Trump’s promises has not been made.
Delivery on Biden’s promises have been made, but because these are large infrastructure programs, the benefits of implementation will take years to affect the economy, but people want instant satisfaction.
Of course, these long term projects, including a tax raise on the very wealthy will now be cancelled y Trump and traded for another tax cut for the wealthy , increasing the deficit without benefit to the middle class yet again.
