They are actually quite well done, and Howard makes for a good easy* to follow tour guide.
Well actually, he does get a little technical now and then, so real musicians will get even more out of it than I.

If the Beatles thing seems interesting,
here's another Beatles documentary - one that I'm glad I stumbled on after seeing Goodall's review.
This doc is more directly about the Beatles 63/65ish - all about personal accounts and stuff,
relating to - but leaving all that interesting musical background stuff unspoken.
I would recommend watching Goodall's "appreciation" of the Beatles first -
since he fills in the musical details that are only hinted at in the following personal review.
