I don’t see things like that. This is about recognition, not ideology.
What I’m talking about isn’t some discipline or idealized way of looking at the world, …
What I’m talking about is developing a deeper understanding of yourself, by recognizing your place in Earth’s evolution, and the fact of your body-brain and its accumulation of ancient knowledge and strategies, the deep-time reality it you. I could say the “truth” of you. The biological physical you.
With of course your mind and the symphony of thoughts that make up one’s “mindscape”, is a reflection of your body communicating with itself ( Drs. Solms, Damasio, Sapolsky, can help explain the scientific material details). This mental-you is the accumulative product of all the experiences of your life, and how you, and your body has dealt with them.
I’m loving it, but It comes at a cost to others, especially east of here, below Lemon and Vallecito reservoirs, lots of homes in harms way. Then, my neighbor had a ditch dug for foundation forms, ready for concrete, but in this soil, and with this rain especially this morning, the sides of the ditch have melted. Rotten piece of luck and timing.
This is the sort of reality, day to day at the el rancho, that I’m attuned to much of the time. Does the soul good.
(although it’s ranching days ended a long time ago)
