Anything to back that up?
Like your “1 million” claim farther up…which was either totally wrong or intentionally misleading.
Halas, he is right, variant D is still very active but variant omicron represents 49 % of tested cases and up to 78 % of new cases. more than 250 000 cases were detected yesterday against roughly 50 000 in the worst days of the first waves.
Happily 90 % of French have been vaccinated or our hospitals would explode.
I have sources, in French.
A bit of a pickle Mr Head?
So by “New Variant from Africa” are you talking about Omicron, or another new variant?
Everybody knows Omicron is spreading… So if you post is about Omicron … it’s old news.
A link would have cleared that up. ditto for that “1 million” claim … got a link?
At least @morgankane01 offered sources. You just offer a smart@$$ comment.
So what’s your story? Got a link?
Loose lips shooting from the hips
The World Health Organization has said that the new coronavirus variant B.1.640.2, first detected in France, is not a variant of concern.
Link
Thank you @morgankane01
GFY @triplex69
Nice!!!
I read that this morning too. I forgot the source though. I think it was Yahoo news, which I do not give much credit too. I give it a slightly higher rating than Faux News though.
This amazes you? Keep in mind there are a lot of stupid people who don’t trust government or science in the U.S. On top of that, you have stupid governors, like Dortard worshipping Mike Parson (I did not vote for the idiot) who removed the Crisis state of the State of Missouri (MO) and refuses to put in mask mandates and especially vaccine mandates. He won’t even place the State in a state of emergency. He really doesn’t care how many deaths there ends up being. He MIGHT decide to do what it takes to the military in MO to help hospitals. He doesn’t want President Biden, but wants to have Martial Law. Some don’t trust government, I don’t trust the Dotard worshipping Repugs, of which Idiot Parson is.
As a side note, I do like that YouTube Doctor, but I don’t take him as 100% Gospel. After all, he is on YouTube.
From the Monday report:
The record single-day total may be due in part to delayed reporting from over the holiday weekend. A number of U.S. states did not report data on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, and many do not report data on weekends, meaning that some of these cases could be from positive tests taken on prior days.
Nonetheless, as of Jan. 3, the seven-day average of daily new U.S. cases is 480,273, the highest such metric of new cases in any country tracked by Johns Hopkins.
As I stated - “1 million daily Covid Cases” is somewhat misleading
Some of us like to read beyond the headlines … or the troll-bits.
Too little, too late.
You’ll always be a troll in my eyes.
Thanks mrm. Covid has hit us, on the one hand, at a time when we have badass science, the ability to work from home, and mass communication. OTOH, when news is geared toward flash and hype and fear-mongering. We should be aware of a virus, but we are better than this. I see very little mainstream media talking about how these viruses have been crossing over for decades, how dense population combined with 100 year old farm market technology helps, how burning rain forests releases them and pushes animals into contact with people.
Or in this case, why a 1 million mark was hit on a random day. Aren’t we doing a lot more testing now? We bought two yesterday, the supply chain is improving. There’s just so much more to this story than a number on a day. People like triplex are perfect marks for this sort of garbage reporting.
I can tell this is another backhanded comment without merit in not reading the source.
The stratospheric numbers come even as many Americans are relying on tests they take at home, with results that aren’t reported to official government authorities. That means the record is surely a significant under-estimate.
Number of infections more than what is being reported in the community is the response so a million is on the mark. Write a letter to your corporate media who reported this if it concerns you that much. Let’s hear the response
Not backhanded at all. I thought it was quite straight forward and clear. I’m not going write the corporate media, this is a discussion forum, I expressed my opinion
You still don’t get it.
You’re just worming around, trying to justify your troll-flag waving.
Keep digging.
Got a link that will support your “reported to actual” difference?
Just sayin. I never said US numbers are great. I never said they aren’t underreported. I’ve been embarrassed from the beginning, as we led the world down the road to a pandemic. We have memos just like China, showing our highest officials knew this was bad before they started on measures to deal with it.
Then forward the discussion and tackle the point made to you about under reporting if you want to argue the million cases claim
