You can’t come up with any policy or any direct action individuals should take to force govt into implementing these policies and making the change.
Yes, you can write your representative in government and make the case for a change in the unconstitutional law that forbids Hemp cultivation on the basis of some imaginary danger to the general public. If enough "voters" do this the representatives will listen. They like to get reelected.

How do you envision forcing the government to do anything? Take over the Capitol and hold representatives hostage to your demands? You force government to take action by voting on issues, such as legalization of Industrial Hemp, especially in states where marijuana is already y legalized and there is absolutely no reason to continue with a law that had no legitimate purpose to begin with. You are a good writer> make your case in public. No one is going to accuse you of pushing drugs. Hemp is not a drug, it is a cash crop with 1500 commercial uses and is eco friendly.

Stop with the objections and agree with this realistic approach to mitigate climate change and AGW.

Let’s at least present a united front in this effort. Are we in agreement?

Just ran across an interesting article about “Kelp”

It seems that kelp can be called the Hemp of the ocean. This incredible composite organism has many eco-friendly uses, including bio-fuel and grows at a rate that easily meets large scale harvesting methods.

Kelps are large brown algae seaweeds that make up the order Laminariales. There are about 30 different genera.[3] Despite its appearance, kelp is not a plant since it is not made of more than one clearly differentiated tissue;[4] it is a heterokont.[citation needed]
Kelp grows in "underwater forests" (kelp forests) in shallow oceans, and is thought to have appeared in the Miocene, 5 to 23 million years ago.[5] The organisms require nutrient-rich water with temperatures between 6 and 14 °C (43 and 57 °F). Absolutely, but that doesn’t really address the reality of what we are facing. For one, the entire reserves above and below ground of oil in the world will run out in some 4o years, unless we immediately begin by drastically reduce oil drilling and start limiting gasoline consumption.

A Tax will not prevent the exhaustion of our current oil reserves. This requires a fundamental shift of energy supply for our lifestyles. If it isn’t available cheap enough, entire segments of the population will be forced to switch to high priced sub-standard public transportation.

Industries must plan for and invest in supplies for an immediate changeover. In the grand scheme of things, 40 years is a very short time for half the world’s industries.

IMO, as Dr Bartlett says: the exponential function is the least understood mathematical function;

You cannot legislate the climate. Now is the time for action. Plant Hemp ! That is a policy that actually has an immediate impact on CO2 and AGW.

Pay the farmers to plant it. Right now fires are destroying hundreds of thousands of acres of forest. Start planting immediately, and in 3 -4 months you will have the equivalent CO2 scrubbing power as the forests that got burnt. Keep planting and in 1 year you will start reversing the CO2 accumulation.

Don’t just whine and complain, do something!

The Government can loan them. The value of the cash crop will offset more than enough. Don’t forget Hemp is an industrial crop of incredible variety.

In September 2018, the federal government announced an investment of $330,550 CAD (approximately $250,000 USD) for the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance (CHTA) to develop industry-wide grading standards so that Canadian hemp products could be recognized globally for their quality and consistency. The CHTA is a national organization representing industrial hemp growers and promoting hemp and hemp products globally.

Established in 2003, the Alliance represents those involved in Canada’s hemp industry, including farmers, processors, food manufacturers and researchers. CHTA’s website includes information on growing hemp, as well as on various hemp-based products:

  • Food, such as hemp seed, hemp oil and hemp protein in the form of flour or powders
  • Clothing
  • Cosmetics
  • Industrial products

In the meantime, the earth’s atmosphere and soil are being restored. Remember, no pesticide is needed! Very little crop maintenance.

We don’t even truly understand and own the roots of our problems to begin with.

We are past the point of controlling what’s coming at us.

We are transition into societal breakdown. Can’t you read the writing on the wall, especially these past couple months of utter calamity across the global. The tempo is speed up. Globalism and today’s complex global communication networks, the national power grids isn’t going to keep on keeping. {Mike wants an exact day. But life is a crap shot, folds within folds…, it’s a moronic expectation to have, if it allows one to ignore the obvious}

There will be horrors like we don’t want to imagine. There will be survivors, but human domination is nearing its end, and those survivor will be isolated from each other in lucky locals.

I’ve spent a half century fervently trying to learn, head the consequences, learned that less is more, so wanted to help spark curiosity in others. Obviously, not very successfully but that’s another story. Tex, secret knowledge do you think you have? Please share. I so wish I could, but I can’t think of ‘solutions’ anymore, it’s too later for that, it’s out of our hands. The only thing that really matters is inner knowledge and understanding and getting ready mind and spirit for a hell ride that we and our psychological, spiritual selves are in for.

Specially for a bright eyed happy vagabond child of the 60/70s - who got to taste the wonderful cornucopia place this Earth was. We knew, and so many sold their souls. So crushingly sad.

It only takes a few large swatches of burnt up Federal lands. Biden could declare Hemp legal by executive order. And then the money will become available. This could be done in a few days.

There is a thriving financial market for Hemp outside of the US. It is an established and profitable industry.

Thousands of years before hemp-derived CBD became a hot commodity, China was planting hemp for fiber and seed production.

Like much of the world, China eventually banned hemp. But it didn’t take long for the country to resume its place in the hemp industry once the prohibition was lifted in 2010.

Today, China is believed to be the world’s top hemp producer.

 

The “industry has exploded and is set to grow even further,” noted a report about China released in February by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service.

According to the FAS report, China produces more than half the world’s hemp supply. Chinese hemp-fiber sales were estimated at $1.2 billion in 2018, although the government does not release official cultivation, production or sales data.

“Multiple media outlets also report that China accounts for 11% of the $800 million global CBD market behind Europe and the United States,” the FAS report said.
