Campaigns of anti-US deepfake newscasts

Oh lordie, I’m at 22:38 and not sure how much more of this f. fest I can put up with,

The narrator gets on my nerves because he reminds me of all the preachers telling me what this or that Bible passage means rather than allowing me to read the lousy paragraph for myself without constant interruption and distracting personal opinion that’s focused on selling his product.

Douglas Murray, besides being a devious speaker, apparently thinks that Hunter Biden’s laptop is proof positive that the entire government is in collusion or something like that. I’ve since read most of his breaking article. Fishy with the palpable stink of bias.

So that’s the product, Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Douglas Murray wrote in the NYPost: “Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company, according to emails obtained by The Post.”

Have you done any fact checking?

Put simply, the chronology doesn’t work – the investigation into Burisma, where Hunter worked, was dormant by the time Shokin was pushed out. It would also represent a major historical anomaly. During Shokin’s 13 months in office, not one major figure was convicted. No oligarch. No politician. No ranking bureaucrat. It would appear unlikely he was in the middle of breaking the habit with the Bidens.

Yet the image of Shokin as a crusading, independent prosecutor is inconsistent with the picture given by half a dozen former colleagues interviewed for this piece.

Unanimously, they described Shokin as a “dependent” creature; a man made in the image of whoever was his patron at the time.

In three terms in office, Shokin served three presidents as either deputy prosecutor or chief prosecutor. He made himself useful to all three, the sources say. He made himself especially indispensable to Poroshenko, with whom he has been linked since at least 2001.

“Shokin was quiet, unassuming, and he always fulfilled his orders,” says Oleksandr Martynenko, a prominent Ukrainian journalist who worked as press secretary to Leonid Kuchma, the first president under whom Shokin served.

“Shokin understood the hints, didn’t make scandals, and that’s how he survived and climbed the ladder in the first place.”

The New York Post ’s own journalists say they are skeptical of the paper’s stories about Hunter Biden, including the man who wrote most of the “smoking gun” story and would not put his name on it, four newsroom sources told Intelligencer.

I’ve continued listened - narrator tells us Matt and Doug are trying to get to the facts, I haven’t seen the slightest attempt to do that. It was a big mud fight nothing more, and yes Malcolm was a disappointment too.

Oh and gotta love this “serious” effort, using clips from a boxing match, to drive home the narrators storyline . That’s a brainwashing technic don’t you know.

Is this the kind of diet of “news” and “information” you believe in?

he made him to look stupid when he tried to pull out the race and fact checking card

Probably missing nothing, given that Right Wingers aren’t worth listening to.

Actually, it’s makes one look stupid when they refuse to fact check. See, that’s what Right Wingers don’t want you to do- fact check, that is. If one fact checks, they find out that Right wingers are lying or at the very least twisting the facts.

Look at you, you’re watching a wrestling match and I’m after learning something.

That program was a supposed discussion, but it was more akin to a Kangaroo Court, turned into a baiting game, the less skilled get fluster and run over, and the gold tongue wins.

While the actual ‘thing’ is never soberly examined and weighted.

Why not an honest, open, civil, discussion about issues, why not a little enlightening, or educating others? That was a set up from the beginning, theater.

Gamesmanship is all that program was about. And yeah, both sides play at it, either way no body learns or grows following that diet.

Metalhead you seem obsessed with blaming, but it’s very selective, one-sided blaming.

I’d rather understand the situations first, then by and by have really good reasons (and evidence behind my claims), before starting to make a big deal of blame. Ignorance is the villain in my world.

The problem isn’t the facts, it’s the absence of other inconvenient facts that counts . A paper can publish a thousand checked facts, but by omitting the other pertinent but contrary thousand other facts, is still lying. The other way that facts are presented is by relaying information from other people, “a whitehouse spokesperson” for instance, or quoting a so called “authoritative” source but merely just another unverifiable utterance of a non-disinterested party. Whereas inconvenient probers of the truth such as Seymour Hersh or John Pilger are successful pushed aside and sent to Never Never Land

You make Seymour sound like a saint. It’s not supposed to be about the writer, it’s about weighting the evidence being examined!

which doesnt occur in the general discourse. CFI forum being a microcosm of that. The overriding matter is that the MSM now have an agreed agenda and they all push it and to hell with moral or ethical human concerns. This agenda is killing our societies and the very planet we depend on.

Actually, it pretty much permeates all of us, that’s not the right way to put, it goes way deeper than “MSM” with players like FOX network, monstrously worse, intentionally manipulative from the beginning of their existence emboldened by every success and totally committed to the richest of the rich. Where’s your upset with that?

Besides,
What do you suggest?

That’s where the lies are, that’s where the propaganda is, that’s the nature of Western propaganda, and I suppose that’s why an increasing number of people are not trusting the media.

How old are you?
Yes it matters.

You don’t trust what Western governments, press and medias tell and you are right, as everything needs to be checked.

The Bush junior Syrian war is a good exemple. Trump and Fox news are other exemples.

Just a question : what do you trust Russian or China governments, press and medias ?

These countries are dictatorships with interests and fighting West and democracy. Why should they be telling truth ?

The problem isn’t in the facts, it’s your lack of understanding of the term “fact”.

fact

noun

something that actually exists; reality; truth: Your fears have no basis in fact.

something known to exist or to have happened: Space travel is now a fact.

a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true: Scientists gather facts about plant growth.

something said to be true or supposed to have happened: The facts given by the witness are highly questionable.

What you seem to be engaged in is the exercise of “counterfactuals”.

What is counterfactual thinking example?

When people engage in counterfactual thinking, they imagine outcomes that differ from those that actually occurred. For instance, someone who gets into a car accident may think about what would have happened if they had not been texting, turned down a different road, or left a minute sooner. Feb 10, 2023

The point is that “facts” are extant conditions and counterfactuals are “what if” thinking.

Fox News is a perfect example of counterfactual thinking. The blatant denying of “what is” and replacing it with a fictional (whatisnot) scenario and that’s why they are now being sued for “damages caused by lying” to the tune of 1 billion dollars.!!!, an indication of the seriousness of public lying by a profit-oriented organization. It is also defined as “propaganda”.

> What is propaganda? Propaganda is the dissemination of information—facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies—to influence public opinion.

It goes a little deeper than the terms “fact” or “rumor”, it is a criminal enterprise.

You may be close to diagnosing the disease but are way off on the cure. Sowing distrust in facts is the agenda of the propogandists. It doesn’t require all news agencies to get together in secret meetings and discuss what lies they will tell. It only takes a few, repeating lies over and over, claiming to have facts but never showing them, asking questions that imply some truth is being covered up. That question asking lets the vulnerable in on the game, making them feel that if they follow it, they will uncover the truth and fix the world. They go on to recruit others, giving them a sense of community, crusaders for truth.

There are always people who did not have the advantages, the time and resources, to piece together the complicated history that led us to where we are now. A lack of funding for education doesn’t help. A rapidly changing world makes it easy to point out something that they were taught that is now wrong, so the doubting of authority based on facts begins. Then someone comes along who says they understand them, and they have the solution. “Well, you know, I’d love to see the plan”.

how did you form this belief?

You don’t trust what Western governments, press and medias tell and you are right, as everything needs to be checked.

The number of people who dont trust corporate western media is growing. There must be a reason for that.

The Bush junior Syrian war is a good exemple. Trump and Fox news are other exemples.
Why did you not include CNN, MSNBC NPR NYT etc in that list of examples?

Just a question : what do you trust Russian or China governments, press and medias ?
I trust my self to look at what is presented and ask what is being claimed, who is making the claim is it objective or opinionated, does it actually match with the events occurring so on.

You know then propaganda model as put forward by Chomsky and Herman is applied across world from your super democracies France and USA to the demons of the west Russia and China

Russia and China? What are you asking?

excellent example of CNN propaganda. Thanks Media Matters

That is a misplaced statement. In democracies
states with “freedom of the press” it may give rise to some “faux news outlets” like Fox, but there is plenty of accurate reporting because freedom of the press is protected by law from censorship. There is no compelling reason why a news outlet would have to distort the facts.

OTOH, in autocracies the press is wholly controlled by the State and has no choice but to publish what it is told to.

do your homework on the propaganda model. Video example of its application by CNN was just posted

The question that assumes an answer.

The feeling of being part of the good side.

Vague reference to a conspitatorial secret society.

Classic

Yes, that is the propaganda model I already mentioned and is usually employed by autocratic regimes that control (own) the press.

You just don’t read any posts other than your own, don’t you?

In a democracy with “freedom of the press” there is no compelling reason to use false propaganda, because the news media are legally protected from government control. That is why they are called the" Fourth Estate", and that unique status is a real source of pride by the majority of news reporters.

fourth estate

noun

the public press

It might be news to you that the term fourth estate has been around for centuries. In Europe, going back to medieval times, the people who participated in the political life of a country were generally divided into three classes or estates. In England they were the three groups with representation in Parliament, namely, the nobility, the clergy, and the common people. Some other group, like the mob or the public press, that had an unofficial but often great influence on public affairs, was called the fourth estate. In the 19th century, fourth estate came to refer exclusively to the press, and now it’s applied to all branches of the news media.

You are slandering a whole lot of honest reporters with your hysterical (not historical) conspiracy theories.

How often do you need reminding of the slander suit by Dominion vs Fox (faux) News, that may cost Fox as much as a billion dollars in damages and penalties?

Has anybody ever sued Putin for false propaganda? Or are they all in jail instead of him?
