I thought we were talking about msnbc censoring 3 muslim anchors at a time when Israel carpet bombs Gaza
No you were doing that, not just that, you are trying to make a point through innuendo, rather than producing any evidence to build on.
Given the little evidence I’ve found, it seems schedules change and Mehdi had an unexpected change of plans and did some traveling.
Mehdi Hasan on Israel, Gaza, and what happens next
To destroy Hamas for the massacre of its citizens on October 7th, Israel appears to be preparing for a ground invasion of Gaza. But if bombing or invading Gaza is the solution to Hamas, then why hasn’t it worked the last half dozen or so times Israel tried it? As Mehdi lays out in his deep dive, we’ve seen this movie before… with the U.S. "war on terror.”
But this thread is actually about Washington Politics, so I’ll try to put this putt putt car back on the track.
This is the story that actually fits into this thread. Mr.trump demanding complete immunity, have a listen . . .

MeidasTouch host Ben Meiselas reports on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Opposition to Donald Trump’s motion to dismiss the Washington DC federal criminal indictment set for trial in March 2024.
Back to washington with Marjorie Taylor Greene in fine pro israel pro zionist form calling jewish voice for peace as Hamas supporters and a peaceful protest at Captial Hill of what israel is doing in Gaza as an insurrection.
That’s how protest works. You do something disruptive, something illegal, and get arrested for it. More often than not, you get out of jail in less than 24 hours. On rare occasions, you get beat up or killed by the police, but that’s not what happened here. Biden can’t step in and tell the police not to enforce the law, that is the definition of the “rule of law”.
In a restricted area, what do you expect. They got their minute in the sun. It’s all very legal and normal.
Note that there was no violence or hacking off heads.
About 300 arrested. Didnt enter restricted area. ABC news has more on this
“Protesters, like the rest of the public, can legally enter the Capitol complex and only risk issues when they cause a disturbance, according to the police spokesperson.”
Calling a peaceful protest in a public space a disturbance and arrested for breaking no law goes against the 1 st amendment of the Constitution with the right to freedom of assembly and fits in a society moving towards fascism rather than an open and democratic state.
Not being allowed to peacefully demonstrate in captial hill buildings within public accessible areas is unconstitutional and these officers swore allegiance to unhold the Constitution. The demonstrators did not break into the building, did not claim to want to interfere in a government proceeding, and did not destroy government property or threaten politicians.
They created a disturbance. The Capitol is not a stadium. You cannot protest in a court of law, in the Senate chambers and certainly not in the House of Representatives.
About a 1000 violent protesters are now in jail for “protesting” in the Capitol and trying to halt a legal proceeding of electing a new president. There is no pick and choose what is acceptable. Creating a disturbance is cause for arrest and removal.
You cannot yell fire in a crowded theatre, you cannot break city speed limits. All are restricted for good reason, public safety.
No one is talking about restricted areas. The public have the right to access public spaces within public buildings as its the property of the people and have the constitutional right to peacefully assemble .
Arrests took place in the Cannon Rotunda, police reported.
“U.S. Capitol Police spokesman Paul Starks told USA TODAY on Thursday that police arrested 308 people on charges of crowding, obstructing, or incommoding in a forbidden area. They were ticketed and released.”
Are you saying the Jan. 6 raid on the Capital was a justified “peaceful” protest? If so, you don’t know what a peaceful protest is. That’s not how it is done. They literally broke and they literally threatened politicians. They stormed and raided it. Many of them have gone to prison for it too. Do not fool yourself and be one of those Dumpster people.

You are wrong.
The government has long ago established its right to have guidelines and expect them to be followed, or a price is to be paid for lawless.

And your objection to the charges is what ? That they are false charges?
Or is it your insistence on having the freedom and right to do as you please in a public area even if it is a “forbidden area”?
You just don’t like to be told how to behave in deference to other people with rights, right?
