Betrayer of Allies

After his betrayal of the Kurds, T rump announced that we have defeated ISIS in Syria and now our troops are leaving. But apparently troops are just moving to south Syria. Apparently not all the special forces are even out of northern Syria, yet.

T rump is a liar, to the point that he cannot always maintain functional relationships.

It will take at least a couple months to disengage all American military from Syria. I’m hoping they’re all out by new year.

ATM, they changed it to all US forces out of Notheast Syria. I don’t think T rump cares if there are troops in Syria, as long as he can claim that he took them all out.

The more I look at it, the worse the betrayal seems. In August the US agreed with Turkey to get the Kurds to pull back from their Turkey-border fortifications. The US got the Kurds to do that. They have basically treated the Kurds like military crack hos (except without supplying crack) and also set them up for the Turks to come in and murder them.

If I were an objective non US citizen watching this stuff in a movie, I would say “Screw those treacherous US bastards!”

It’s all okay now. He slapped Turkey with sanctions, which they knew were coming before they invaded. So it’s all good now. If capitalistic US laws have taught us anything it’s that it’s all right to kill as many people as you like as long as you put a dollar amount on their lives. And, of course, that the dollar amount you put on their lives cannot approach more than about half the profits you made killing them. Otherwise you wouldn’t get anything out of the deal and you would have killed them for nothing.

  • The worst thing about T rump's impulsive Commander in Chief mode in this case is the Betrayal of the Kurds. But they might survive extermination by the Turks, since they (the Kurds) have now sought alliance with Assad and the Russians. That was however a humiliating decision in itself, for the Kurds, since they have been abused by Assad before. The worse news is that our most effective anti-ISIS ally is now allied with Russia and thinks that we are cowards and scum.
  • The next worse thing is that ISIS will be reforming its Caliphate.
  • Putting everyone in the world and their dogs on sanctions and tariffs and such, all at the same time, is going to catch up with the world economy at some point. So sanctions on Turkey, which won't even have much impact for months, is just another T rump boondoggle.

You know why he does only what he can do with executive order? Because all he has to do is tell someone what he wants, have it drawn up and sign it. There is no planning, there is no process, there is no work and he gets to feel powerful. He found out rather quickly that when he tells Congress that he wants them to do something they ask him to draw up an outline of how he wants it done, which means work! And thinking! And planning! He likes “making decisions” and executive orders are the only way he can feel like he’s doing that because if he tells Congress “do this” they respond with “as soon as you do that”. He can’t just order them around. That makes him feel less powerful. That doesn’t get him his power trip when they can give him orders right back. So he does only executive orders and passing out medals to white people and such. Things he can do that nobody can stop him from doing and nobody can turn into work for him.

I was just watching the upcoming Dozen Dems Debate and a singer performed the Star Spangled Banner a Capello. It was a beautiful rendering. As I listened I imagined scenes of Kurds being blown up by the Turks. There was no red white and blue waving in the light of the rockets’ red glare, in those scenes of betrayal and death There is no home of the brave.

T rump, just days ago, was justifying cutting and running by declaring we shouldn’t have our soldiers in Syria because there is nothing there worth fighting over, just sand, sand, sandy sand. He was supposedly fulfilling a campaign promise to take our military out of the Middle East wars. But, then, we learned that he was just moving them to Iraq. Then we learned that not all of our troops actually left Syria. Now T rump has discovered that there is some oil there, so now we have troops who will be protecting that. (And now, T rump is talking as if that is now our oil.) Oh and the troops that went to Iraq, they can’t stay according to the Iraqis.

T rump is making Dick Cheney, George W, and Rumsfeld look like military geniuses in comparison to him. And they were, heretofore, the biggest fukups in modern American military history.

T rump stamped out some hope for humanity by allowing this Kurdish leader’s death by Turks.

US special forces killed Al Baghdadi. This had been planned for some time BEFORE T rump’s impulsive betrayal of the Kurds. In fact, we now hear that T rump’s insane decision to betray the Kurds, could have disrupted the plans to get Baghdadi, but fortunately, did not. We also hear that the Kurds helped out with the mission to kill Baghdadi, despite being left by us to be ethnically cleansed from the territory they had lived in, in northern Syria. I don’t, understand their willingness to help, except as it being the most rational thing for them to do, in that they really need to still destroy ISIS, else they will be its top targeted victim.
