On Tuesday, the Washington Times, the ultra-right daily newspaper in the US capital, published a full-page ad purchased by an Ohio-based fascist group, the We The People Convention, calling on Trump to declare martial law and order a new election under the supervision of the US military.
The ad denounced the “threat to our United States by the international and domestic socialist/communist left,” warned of the existence of “well-funded, armed and trained marxists in ANTIFA and BLM strategically positioned in our major cities,” and denounced the election as “corrupt and provably fraudulent.”
Guess they are too stupid to realize they are asking for authoritarian dictatorship. We don’t need another election. They just need to accept the one we just had and get on with life, because there was NO FRAUD or corruption. They just can’t get that through their thick heads and are demanding that the election go their way. It didn’t go their way and it was without fraud. They really do like to make up crap.

This is a pretty amazing piece of analysis. It seemed weird, but I was talking online to some of my QAnon friends and a mutual friend put this up. The psychology of gaming was interesting, the way there isn't really a goal except to keep playing, it's the same dopamine hit, win or lose. But then, he starts talking about how the clues cross over into real life, and there is no way this is just some dudes on a reddit page, there has to be some money behind this. It's weird, because now I'm saying there is a conspiracy, right? The conspiracy is that the conspiracy theorists are conspiring to get people to not believe media, not believe their government, not believe anything except an anonymous poster on the internet.

Hmmm, think you have something there. I notice the Democratic Party communication with their grassroots has never evolved past the begging for donation, into the informating and engaging phase. They've never really tried to activate people, such as when the Republicans froze Obama's Supreme Court nomination Garland. Instead of explaining facts and developing talking points, encouraging people to start massive letter campaigns and protests, encourage a huge demonstration to surround and shut down the Capital Building with American and demand the Garland receive his hearing. (I believe it's a case of not wanting to wake the giant. That is self-awareness that public pressure works on politicians, if tactical and forceful.)
They folded for an entire f’n year - Quite literally rolling over like a beaten dog and letting the Republicans know loud and clear, that they can get away with anything. The rest is history and they certainly have.
Previous to this election I was very worried, but seems to me it’s turned out, when ya get down to it, the radical right is as lazy as the left. For all their chest beating - turns out they got no real heart after all - posers one and all. Guess they are coddled hollywood children as much as the lefties. There’s some comfort in that, but not much, as the free fall continues. Momentum and general apathy, same as it ever was.
Somewhere in this documentary, we have George explaining how the coddled British were reduced to sheep, incapable of rising up again. I forget where it is, and don’t have the time to watch this now and its been a couple years since I watched it. I have the feeling you, anton, might like the entire program.

When a fact is shown which contradicts his ideas, he answer that I will not tell him what he must think.
Democracy supposes that, even if one disagrees about facts and more about their interpretation, one admits that there is only one factual truth.
The idea of alternative facts is a direct reference to Orwell, 2+ 2 = 5 or to the way of functioning of totalitarian states.

You could search the archives here for some of my stories, but I'll just summarize. I've seen a few of my friends make the switch from reasonable to irrational. All of us hold some belief that's wrong, so in that sense, they were just like all of us. I don't mind someone who studies astrology or thinks they know more about farming than farmers, as long as they keep it limited to a few topics like that.
The switch starts when they can’t handle anyone holding a different opinion. They get upset when someone says astrology isn’t real, for example. Then they see an article in the paper that contradicts their belief about organic farming. Then they start to question all news, all science. That’s the tipping point, where they either figure out how the scientific method works or they start looking for groups who just agree with them, and are happy to spew their anger at anyone who disagrees.

I would say that the fight is ideological. It is up to Biden and democrats to alleviate the material problems of the people and to fight their fears. It is up to every democrat, of either party, to fight.
