The question here has been addressed in many ways, often not-so-good. But this guy really covers the bases. I can agree with just about everything he says and still end up not “loving Jesus”. He covers how authoritarians use religion, how he can’t ignore that Jesus doesn’t address certain social issues, and the more complex question of how Christianity can be seen as part of the process of how we got where we are without it needed to be a group that we should join. And he does it in 15 minutes, which is awesome.
If only more young people were as thoughtful as this young man. Of course he doesn’t mention that even those tales and whatnot attributed to Jesus are nothing more than stitched together stories that were around hundreds of years before and after jesus. But for what he’s saying, that really doesn’t matter. Thanks for posting.
