All Republucan did tow the party line to vote no!!!!
That's my point. They blindly follow whoever their leader may be, and whatever they may say. That's why the last administration was such a cluster, because they had a megalomaniac at the helm and almost no GOPers stood up to him or dared challenge his ideas.
Mriana, honest answer please. Is it true or not true that an unelected parlamentarian took the min wage out of the covid and biden did nothing to address this.?
I don’t know who it was, but I know President Biden didn’t do it. I read the names, but I can’t remember the names. None were President Biden. I can tell you that your anger is misplaced and as you get older you’ll learn that many politicians make promises and many are not kept due to other politicians intervening and stopping those promises from happening. If you get upset everytime, instead of doing activism, all you’ll end up with is high blood pressure and not changing anything.
ROFLMAO! I’m not a Boomer. I missed it by a year or two. I’m an older X’er- the generation many often forget about. The latchkey kids generation, who have this pandemic, because we know how to keep our butts home and entertain ourselves with solid books AND Kindles, Atari and Switch, hand washing dishes and a dishwasher, desktop computers and laptops, Blube tube and picture frame TV, Antenna TV and streaming, landlines and cellphones, drive-ins and theatres, 45s, 33 1/2, 72s AND digital music, transistor radios to walkmans to ipods, hard copy newspapers to digital newspapers, party lines and non-party lines, Central heating and radiators, with everything in between with all those things. I experienced bussing, integrated schools, Vietnam, Crooked Nixon, Patty Hearst (her dad was a newspaper journalist or owned one, if I remember correctly), first moon walk, Disco (it didn’t die, it evolved to EDM, Rave, Dance, House, Trance, prance Techno), I bet you don’t know some of those things, but I learned, just like car salesmen, you can’t believe everything any politician says and that’s not gaslighting. You can’t expect any of them, not even the dotard to keep their promises. You can’t expect politicians to tell the truth all the time, but few lie all the time like the dotard did and does. Again, that’s not gaslighting, that’s the truth.
Now its completely transparent that the Democrates are to blame for failing to get workers a wage rise.
Repugs too. They are just as bad and Repugs also feed corporate greed. BTW, please use spell check, unless you actually meant to call democrats, demo-crates.
Not a boomer. I’m telling you, I missed it by a year or two. I’m an X-er, a gen X-er, or Generation X. A parent of two millenials and a grandparent of a Z. My mother is the Boomer (1944) and my grandparents were the Greatest Generation (born in 1913 and 1914). All though I do share a lot of the same experiences as Kamala, who born the last year of the Boomers. She’s a year or two older than I am, if that give you any time line, but go on and call me a Boomer if you want, you’d still be wrong, just as you are about politics. I am a cusper though, so I don’t take too much offense given we have a lot of good people from the 60s, such as Kamala and Obama.
I’m this type of cusper
Generation X as late boomers
In Canada, professor David Foot describes Generation X as late boomers and includes those born between 1960 and 1966, whilst the "Bust Generation", those born between 1967 and 1979, is considered altogether a separate generation, in his 1996 book Boom Bust & Echo: How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Shift.[47][48]
Therefore, I don’t mind being categorized with Kamala’s group, because we are of the same generation by this definition and not part of the Bust.
And I will tell you, they were the greatest too. At least as grandparents. The link lists the generations and apparently my great grandmother was lost, being born in 1896, but I’m not sure how. So there is your timeline of generations. My aunt was part of the Silent Generation, being born in 1939. My mother is one of the oldest Boomer, but according to Wickedpedia, she’s a Silent too, but if that’s the case, she missed it by two months being born in Nov of '44.
That is actually a racist argument, even if it is cloaked as a logical observation.
You know that the same argument can be made in reverse?
It is a meaningless statement loaded with racist implications, whether intended or not.
You need to read and not exclude parts of a person’s reply. The very next sentence after the one you quoted is “And visa versa.”. The fact that you left that out tells us you’re not interested in truth but only what you want to believe. I believe my point was, equality means equality in success and failure.
I think he was saying if there are two applicants, one who happens to be white and the other happens to Black, sometimes the white person is more qualified than the Black person and sometimes the Black person is more qualified. Unfortunately, I can’t think of a better way for someone to make such a statement. The bottomline is, sometimes the more qualified person happens to be this or that colour or the other.
You’re right the only way to make that statement is to qualify that it is a two-way equation .
There is a definitive neutral statement that in principle “all humans are created equal” regardless of race.
But in view of past discrimination against non-Arian people, it is fair that when the qualifications are equal, a slight preference may be given to those who in the past were discriminated against.
I believe that was the intent of “affirmative action”.
