Yes, exactly. It’s a human concept that has no basis in fact.
To me, the modern way is to recognize everyone as deserving of an education, which means they are deserving of health, and should be nurtured as such. Then each can find their way to contribute. It’s not purely altruistic as it also serves the greater good of finding as many ideas, innovations, and good old hard workers as we possibly can. What you propose is a good idea and it might work when everyone can be expected to cooperate, but that happens only in rare situations. I suggest a more realistic approach, and one consistent with human nature, would be through game theory. We evidence success with it in pro sports. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nash_equilibrium#Competition_game
It’s more likely that the characteristics of modernity developed by chance — usually as the result of some terrible occurrence -- oneguySorry, did I lose track of the thread somewhere? Weren't you the one insisting that white people created the modern world? Oh right, you said that, but had nothing to back it up.
What you propose is a good idea and it might work when everyone can be expected to cooperate, but that happens only in rare situations. --BobI'll work through the calculus in my free time, but you should notice how cooperation is a theme throughout those games. And they are specifically designed to be non-cooperative. Prisoner's dilemma assumes the two players are in separate rooms and can't know what the other is saying. Yet, the cooperative choice is often the better strategy. When we're sitting down with our neighbors, it is an even better strategy.
We are a social animal. To say cooperation is rare is a statement against our very nature.
ENOUGH! I’m shutting down ALL racial superiority threads because they are not conducive to social or scientific inquiry and quite frankly getting out of hand.
I will start shutting them down with the first superiority thread that was open and work my way to the others, but it has nothing to do with “crapping on white people”.
But before I shut this thread down I will tell you what I told ExMachina in a private message after they messaged me. My response was this after they appeared to be trying to compliment me on what they considered holding true to my liberal views, which liberalism isn’t the point here:
Thank you. I think, but for me it has nothing to do with liberal views. You seem to forget that more than once I have said that I gave birth to two babies, now young men, who are 1/2 Black. I’m a mother and grandmother who loves her offspring dearly. Why would I even want to say my side of their family is better than their dad’s family? That would be a horrible thing to say any child or even a grown child and they themselves would realize it’s nothing more than a human concept that is based on ignorance. I raised my sons to be proud of who they are, of their heritage on both sides, and that they can be anything they want to be, even if they are considered black and others neglect my side of their family. Let’s face it- Black is beautiful, black is brilliant, and ignorance and stupidity of those who refuse to learn about others, is real. It has very little to do with being a liberal and a lot to do with being a mother who loves her children and grandchild. I’m a mother who thinks her sons are very handsome young men and her grandson is very handsome too. It’s not so much being liberal as it is being a mother and I will fight racial stupidity and ignorance, preferring to educate.
There isn’t any education or learning about others in these threads when people are making accusations and even trying to understand others. IMHO, CFI is for inquiry, not just scientifically, but also learning about other people and other cultures. For me, this is part of being a humanist and we should not be making judgements about people based on skin colour or ethnicity. We should be learning about each other.
If anyone has an issue with me shutting down all the threads that sound like pure racism, then start a thread in the complaints area, thank you.
