Trump doing more work for Putin

Once more Trump is working in the interests of Russia and his puppet master Putin, this time ending aid to Syrian forces opposed to brutal dictator Bashar al-Assad.

U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to halt the CIA's years-long covert program to arm and train moderate Syrian rebels battling the regime of the nation's president Bashar al-Assad. Russia had long pushed the United States to end the program. The phasing out of the secret program was reported by The Washington Post on Wednesday. Officials told the newspaper that ending the operation reflects Trump's interest in finding ways to work with Russia.
BS, Trump isn't interested in working with Russia, he's working for Putin.

Well, if we're not there to win, we ought to get out. It seems we've been feeding the rebels just enough support to keep the killing going, but not enough to give them any reasonable chance of prevailing. I don't see how that's doing anybody any favors. You may be right that Trump is working in the interests of Russia, I don't claim to know that much. But it's clear there is no stomach in the U.S. for another land war in the Middle East. That was clear long before the Russians got involved.

Even if Congressional republicans lack the courage to directly stand up to Putin’s puppet they have at least taken steps to block the worst of what Trump is trying to do for Russia.

U.S. Republicans and Democrats have reached agreement on legislation that allows new sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea, leading congressional Democrats said on Saturday, in a bill that would limit any potential effort by President Donald Trump to try to lift sanctions against Moscow. The Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act, which was passed by the Senate a month ago, was held up in the House of Representatives after Republicans proposed including North Korea sanctions in the bill. The House is set to vote on Tuesday on a package of bills on sanctions covering Russia, Iran and North Korea, according to House majority leader Kevin McCarthy's office. The measure will "hold them accountable for their dangerous actions," McCarthy said in a statement Saturday. Under the proposed bill, Trump must submit to Congress a report on proposed actions that would "significantly alter" U.S. foreign policy in connection with Russia, including easing sanctions or returning diplomatic properties in Maryland and New York that former president Barack Obama ordered vacated in December. Congress would have at least 30 days to hold hearings and then vote to uphold or reject Trump's proposed changes. Many lawmakers hope the bill will send a message to Trump to keep a strong line against Russia. Trump, who met Putin at the Group of 20 summit in Hamburg earlier this month and said it was an "honour" to meet him, has been criticized for seeking to reset U.S.-Russian relations. His administration has been bogged down by ongoing investigations of possible ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia.
Trump could go ahead and try a veto, but then it becomes very hard to deny that he is in fact working for Russia and not America. Congressional republicans understand what a threat Russia is or they wouldn't be taking steps to protect US interests, so there is no need for the kind of accommodation with Russia that Trump keeps claiming is necessary. This smacks of the kind of appeasement of Hitler by the British and French right before WW II. Only in that case it wasn't because their leaders were in the pocket of Hitler, they were just afraid of war. It's pretty clear that Russia is gearing up for war, it's already going after the US command and control structures and will introduce a whole new level of death next year with the RS-28 ICBM. If the 100 RS-28 that will be introduced are armed with the unstoppable hypersonic gliders that will mean an additional 2,400 nukes pointed our way. And Trump talks about getting along with the lunatic behind this as if it was a good idea. He's not doing that because he has a clue what he's doing, he's doing it because he's a puppet of a hostile foreign power.
