Conceivably trump could end up on death row for this, I don't think this will end up in his advantage at all. He'll likely get out of this with his life, but he's never going to be welcome in the US again, they are already attacking him on Fox News, that's only going to get worse. He has no real allies except Putin and as devious and ruthless as Putin is he's not American and there is going to be one hell of a backlash over what Trump has done already. And he's not done yet.
