I’m crying again. I’m crying so often these days, seeing the past, and oftentimes never having realized it.
I mostly cry because of my parents, as I love them so much, and I know they love me, but my ideas have always destroyed everything. - Really? Not really. My ideas were simply rejected, without further consideration. Anything non-conservative does not have a voice, it must be subdued.
Fascism is the wrong word, as fascism reminds of Hitler and Hitler is despised, but the ideas of happiness are the same. Fascist ideas. A strong leader who keeps the world at peace and lets people live their dreams… within the network, of course.
Fascism is not a military idea, although only sustained by such a force; it is the dream of a happy, peaceful life, unencumbered by economic problems, the world outside the dream, or people who don’t wish to live it (as they are put to labor or worse).
Communism is similar. Many fascist ideas are taken from Communism. But Communism is an idea that is not based on leadership, but on equality. - Granted, it never worked so far. But it does work if everyone agrees. (See the Hutterites or monastic communites.) - And no! Fuck the so-called “communism” as it happened to this day. I won’t stand beside this nonsense.
But I know… my communist, socialist ideas are not welcome in America. I like the American idea, but I despise its exploitative capitalism, taking advantage of the poor and making them poorer, while the rich become super-rich. - No, I’m not a communist, but I have very socialistic ideas, contrary to my libertarianism otherwise. - I do not believe in money-making, however silly that may seem. And no, if you make money and worked for it, no problem… but if you have money you owe it to help others. Why? Because you are freakin’ human. (And just for the record, I don’t need anyone’s money. I work and make my own living. Since I don’t have kids, however, I support Children International, for nearly 20 years now. Yes, I give my money away, to those who need it. And they do need it. I really don’t. - And to have “sons and daughters” like that, it makes you happy! It really does. Try it.)
A great movie you all might be interested in is “Examined Life”. It features Peter Singer and Slavoj Zizek among others. Very thoughtful and interesting. (If you don’t wanna buy it, I’ll send you my copy, under one condition, send it along… Grateful Dead mindset, you know.)
Well, my sobbing has stopped by now, but I really like to cry. Takes that Prussian impulse out of you.
Never mind, my brothers and sisters, gentlemen and gentler women (as Sparrow puts it)…
Peace & Love to all of you. Enjoy your weekend. Don’t freak, just take it easy. Smoke a joint and chill.
With Love,
Michelle
“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." Kahlil GibranMichelle, find comfort in knowing that Humanism is a quest from noble emotions.
Good morning Write4U… and thanks for the quote. I like it.
Yes, I suppose Humanism is a noble quest. The only quest out there that’s worthwhile anyway.
Sorry about my emotional rambles these days. Still haven’t gotten over the holidays I guess.
Peace, my friend, and have a great Sunday!
No need to apologize, Michelle. You reached my heart with this little ramble.

Hi Michelle. Like you, I’m very liberal, not in the communist sense, but in the belief that the main function of government is to provide services to all of us (socialistic). I certainly agree that the shift of funds away from the poor and middle class to the wealthy is extremely destructive to our society. At present, the majority of our population is still comfortable enough that they put up with it, when flooded wih the Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. ilk lies. However, I’m an optimist even if it’s through catastrophes.
First, the wealthy don’t have enough sense to moderate their accumulation of funds, which will drive the population down until they revolt (even if only through the ballot box). Second, the effects of global climate change will be another stress that will force changes the wealthy may not survive. Third, we haven’t the slightest idea of what new technologies are in the offing, but they are going to have a far greater impact on our society than people realize.
My only negative is that I won’t be around to see all of these changes. So don’t despair, be prepared for some tough times, but I think by the time you’re quite a bit older, you’ll look back and realize that we pulled ourselves out of the messes.

OccamHi Occam, Thanks for your reply. - I'm not a communist, although I find the idea of such a society fascinating, most likely though never achievable as it only works if all members of that society agree, such as in monasteries where you join by choice. I'm not even necessarily fond of a government at all (I suppose that's an anarchistic streak), but the governments in place, I believe, do have a responsibility to those less fortunate. Socialism of a sort, yes. Democratic socialism. International democratic socialism, if it would ever get there. Equality. I think America is a great country, founded upon great principles, and I take much of that from the late Professor Rufus Fears of Oklahoma State University I believe. America is not a Christian nation, precisely founded in opposition to religiously ruled European nations, its Constitution was drawn up by learned people trying to create the best nation they could envision, and to this day it's possible to amend the laws as the people wish, even amend the Constitution. I like that. Coming from Europe, however, having grown up there, I like both, on the one hand that "American freedom" where you say, "get your nose out of my business, I do what I want", including the freedom to own weapons and live your "survivalist" lifestyle, or cowboy or whatever. That's America, and I don't really have a right to put my opinions on these people. - On the other hand, I like European social structures. The fact that, yes, people are highly structured at times, even longing for that "American freedom", but also getting along quite well. (Disregarding nationalist elements for the moment.) There are no school shootings in Europe, teenagers can travel anywhere at 16 and without fear and quite on their own, the governments take care of the needy (although they do have money problems by now), but overall, you don't really end up as poor or dead as is easy to come by in the U.S. Europe is peaceful, less homicidal, and in some ways more advanced than America, certainly more socially oriented, without "socialism", as it is often portrayed as by these neo-conservative nuts or Tea Party people. (Although, writing about that now, America vs. Europe, this opens up dozens of discussions. Might be worth it though.) America can pull itself out, I believe that, and what the future might bring I have no idea, but I'm open and hopefully positively surprised. Technology is way quicker than I can adjust to or even wrap my mind around, for sure. - I don't really have a problem with wealthy people. There are many who use their wealth for good, but this greed stinks to the heavens, and more than that, the justification of it in some media. It's disgusting. Be that preachers glorifying it or discussions on Fox that the poor really deserve to be poor because they're simply lazy... in effect, I mean, I don't think they ever put it that way. Let me not talk too much here. Should there be a response there might be an interesting discussion. And don't be too negative... I have no idea how old you are, but given medicine these days you might be around to see things :) Maybe we'll reach Noah's years :) Peace.
Hi Occam,
… just for your info, my thoughts yesterday, on socialism and Europe and America, it inspired two posts I put in the Politics section.
And thanks again for your comments. I take them to heart.
Peace.
