The real name of the pandemic

“The Chinese Virus” - no. “The Wuhan Pneumonia” - no. “The Kung Flu” - no.

“The T rump Pandemic” - Bingo!

The T rump Pandemic goes hand in hand with the T rump Recession.

To take advantage of the T rump Recession, the Trumpublicans want to add a trillion $$ to our deficit (doubling it from its already record high). This money would probably mostly go to Corporate Welfare and Bailouts. You recall how the corporations benefited from the T rump tax cuts? They didn’t use the money to create jobs, they simply used it to boost the on paper value of their corporations, by buying their own stock. Now the Trumpublicans want to give them more, more, more.

Anyway, whoever they bless with these socialistic tactics, it will not change the fact that the economy is f-cked because of the T rump Pandemic not being dealt with, effectively. A bailout bill will not mean that businesses can re-open, because the Pandemic is still in effect. So we make some people (probably rich ones if the Trumpublicans have their way) get a $ trillion $ better off, but the underlying conditions of T rump’s broken economy, remains broken.

Spending a $ Trillion may not help anything except allow the richest to ride out the pandemic in style.

How about spending money on the actual crisis - the T rump Pandemic. Just imagine if we knew every person in the USA that is and isn’t infected with the TPV (T rump Pandemic Virus). Then we wouldn’t have to close every business that has any congregation of 10 or more people. We could simply quarantine EVERY carrier of the virus. While they recover, the rest of the economy could carry on as usual.

That cannot happen, however, in the T rump Pandemic, because T rump doesn’t want anyone to know how many carriers are wandering around spreading the virus. He has blocked and delayed testing, every step of the way, despite regularly lying about its availability, as if he wanted it to be used. Even now, he blocks the functional use of testing by demanding that ONLY people with symptoms can be tested.

Anyone who has had a credible close contact with anyone who has been tested positive, should ALSO be tested. Why the f-ck not? Why the f-ck not, starting months ago?

The T rump Pandemic did not need to become the T rump Pandemic, if he had handled it properly from the outset. And it probably did not need to become the T rump Recession. Hell, at this point, it could become the T rump Depression. The man is a scammer, not fit to be a nation’s leader. He cannot be trusted to get us out of this.

From an article by the HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW on JANUARY 28, 2020:

“…if it turns out that asymptomatic transmission — transmitting the disease by someone who displays no symptoms — is possible, all contacts and people who have been exposed to areas with known transmission would also need to be tested, regardless of whether they show any signs of illness. This is not currently being done.”

T rump lies and says no one could have seen this coming. But some guys at the Harvard Business Review saw it coming and gave the prescription to deal with it, back on Jan 28.

https://hbr.org/2020/01/what-will-it-take-to-stop-coronavirus

But NOOOOO! T rump was and is only concerned with whatever it takes to get re-elected. He will not allow adequate testing, even now. Even now, he demands that ONLY symptomatic people be allowed to get tested. Hence we have the T rump Pandemic, accompanied by the T rump recession.

A new respiratory coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, is rapidly spreading throughout China, where authorities have imposed an unprecedented travel lockdown in 16 cities with a combined population of over 50 million. Cases have also been reported in several other countries, including Australia, France, Japan, Thailand, and the United States. As of Monday night, there were nearly 4,500 confirmed cases and 107 deaths. Experts believe it likely that there are thousands more infected who have gone undetected and that it’s possible the virus is even being spread by people who do not have any symptoms. The results of a study of 41 patients hospitalized for 2019-CoV infection highlight the need for urgent action: A third required ICU-level care and 15% died.

Efforts are underway to find a vaccine, but even the most optimistic timelines suggest several months of scientific development before human clinical trials can begin. With no vaccine or treatment, the most effective way to stop 2019-nCoV’s spread is to limit transmission by identifying infected individuals as quickly as possible and isolating them for treatment before they can infect others. This strategy worked against the SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) epidemic in 2003. Global and national health authorities are implementing the approaches used during the SARS crisis, but, other measures also need to be taken because 2019-nCov is already widespread in China.

Similar to 2019-nCoV, SARS …

Contact tracing.

Screening with clinical case definition.

Home-based isolation.

Rapid diagnostics.

. . . The 2019-nCoV epidemic is evolving by the hour. We need to move swiftly to respond to this threat.

But did any of the Republican sociopaths even notice? Not that Democrats didn’t fail just a miserably, but they’re just limp noodles being take on a ride, so I’ll still dump the blame on those ultra-rich Republican sociopaths. I bet the Limburger pig is nicely sequestered far from the rabble he’s been so good at brainwashing.

Indeed, well said.

National Security Add to list U.S. intelligence reports from January and February warned about a likely pandemic

U.S. intelligence agencies were issuing ominous, classified warnings in January and February about the global danger posed by the coronavirus while President Trump and lawmakers played down the threat and failed to take action that might have slowed the spread of the pathogen, according to U.S. officials familiar with spy agency reporting.

The intelligence reports didn’t predict when the virus might land on U.S. shores or recommend particular steps that public health officials should take, issues outside the purview of the intelligence agencies. But they did track the spread of the virus in China, and later in other countries, and warned that Chinese officials appeared to be minimizing the severity of the outbreak.

Taken together, the reports and warnings painted an early picture of a virus that showed the characteristics of a globe-encircling pandemic that could require governments to take swift actions to contain it. But despite that constant flow of reporting, Trump continued publicly and privately to play down the threat the virus posed to Americans. Lawmakers, too, did not grapple with the virus in earnest until this month, as officials scrambled to keep citizens in their homes and hospitals braced for a surge in patients suffering from covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. …

Now when will America recognize him for the treason bastard he is - and when will they hang him from a lamp pole in front of the White House? Like they did his hero Mussolini? But just like with Mussolini it’ll make great picture, while all the damage will have been done.

And what about our American security chiefs what kind of castrated imps are they, to have allowed all this and so much more to unfold with such nonchalant disregard for all and the future?

There are no grown ups left. Hopefully some wisdom will come out of the coming fire, but humanity’s track record stinks when it comes to actually learning any important lessons and we are running out of time.

Yeah, I heard about the Intel reports, about the coming pandemic, to the White House and to congressional intel committee (the Senate, idk about the House Intel committee, but probably them too).

Then of course our LYING DOTUS lies every which way but loose, what’s new there? And some Senators seem to have used the info to do some insider trading, while not giving the public any warning of what was coming for us.

CC:, atm I am fearful about our congress rushing to put $2 trillion into the hands of the most corrupt, untrustworthy, and incompetent administration of our lives. (That is close to $8000 per every single adult in the USA in extra deficit.) And that might not even be the last of the trillions they pump out of nothingness. Really. What could go wrong?

And some Senators seem to have used the info to do some insider trading, while not giving the public any warning of what was coming for us.
That's who we got up there. It's totally spiraled out of control. That people can get so blinded by EGO and GREED - that they've turned into their God.

The stupid is appalling, beyond comprehension.

I hope you’re doing well, Tim.

We have our first confirmed case in the county - yeah, probably the first test too from the way I understand it, so who knows.

That’s who we got up there. It’s totally spiraled out of control. That people can get so blinded by EGO and GREED – that they’ve turned into their God.
What bothers me is, not seeing the reasons for the stock market selloff. If they know what they are doing, which I know is questionable, they are telling us that they have lost all confidence in their own system. They don't trust the politicians or the business owners to know what to do. Ironically, if that had used their accumulated wealth to truly support health care systems, instead of skimming off its profits, they could have fixed this. The long term solution, don't let them skim profits. Food and health care are not football and dance clubs, don't treat them the same. Lots of other obvious stuff too.

I think that only crazed monkeys must be allowed to invest in the Stock Market. It so often goes up and down DRASTICALLY for the flimsiest of purported reasons. It is goofiness to think that the market went up because T rump said he wants to Open up the Economy. But it did.

I can sort of see the market going up because the $2 trillion Bill looks likely to pass. But that Bill will, at best, simply be putting our economy on life support temporarily. Only ending or adapting mightily to the COVID-19 pandemic will allow for the economy to resurge.

Brookville, KS had 459.6 inhabitants per square mile per the 2010 census.

New York city had an estimated population density of 28,491 inhabitants per square mile in 2017.

So who thinks Trump is wrong when he says thousands of places like Brookville, with no airport or mass transit can be treated differently from NY when it comes to social restrictions for containing the virus?

The pandemic will be over when it runs out of victims. People in places like Brookville, who have little risk of being exposed, have little risk of being victims. They can go back to life as normal today with very little risk.

Well ok. The uni-bomber can go back to his usual life in the deep woods. Until he happens to touch the same surface as a passing Park Ranger who got COVID-19 from his son, who got it at school, from a teacher who had gone on her 1st vacation in years, to Mardi Gras.

IOW, little risk of exposure, means the timeline is probably longer. It doesn’t mean zero risk, and thus the infection could take hold anytime. But you don’t want anyone to get tested unless they have been exposed to a known carrier AND have symptoms themselves AND can stand in line long enough to get a test. So if one of those little viruses can slip thru and take hold in 1 person, in even a small community, it can pass and multiply without anyone noticing.

I would be ok with low population density areas maintaining businesses and other activities with more social contact, if they were being monitored with periodic testing, enough for purposes of insuring they remain virus-free. But even rural people go to high density gatherings, at times, e.g., going to a favorite sports game or concert or big tent revival. So there’s that.

COVID-19 is not going to take all of its victims out in one fell swoop. It will come in waves, which will peak and decline in rates of infection and death. And it will come to different localities (even rural ones) eventually. If we can keep the curves (waves) flat enough, we can get thru the worst of it, eventually, and THEN the economy can come back. Also we can get some of the economy back, in the meantime, by doing things differently than in the past.

Since Tim is simply a thinking citizen, thought I’d toss in some supporting information that back him up.
