The Great Replacement Theory and the GOP's War On America

Pollution is not responsible for social dysfunction in Black communities. This reminds me of the theory that lead paint in poor Black neighboorhoods is to blame for crime, low test scores, obesity, etc. Lead paint used to be everywhere, yet those problems are only concentrated among a certain demographic.

Really? I think the same can be said of places where white people live too. I can’t say the majority white inhabited U.S. is not dysfunctional. In fact, it’s very dysfunctional and the white men in power are mostly to blame for it. They attempted to genocide a whole group of people (Native Americans), enslaved another group (Black people), and don’t treat Latino immigrants very well either. These white men in power don’t care if people are so out of control that slaughter people a malls, Walmarts, grocery stores, etc. with AK47, refusing to do anything about gun violence, even though many school children are being slaughtered while in school. That seems pretty dysfunctional to me. It’s not the Black neighbourhoods that is dysfunctional, it’s the U.S. as a whole. Black people are hardly primitive in comparison to those who gun violence and obviously the Repugs and their followers love gun violence.

Write4u isn’t talking about pollution, but rather discussing the fact that white landlords refuse to fix anything in the apartments and cities with a high number of Black people refuse to repair water pipes and other infrastructure in the city. None of this is the fault of Black people and it’s only concentrated because of a government that has historically oppressed those who are not white. I really wish you would stop blaming the victims and see that it is the U.S. as a whole that sick with racism, disclination and a history of genocide that is being perpetuated to this day.

And you think all those bad things you cited above is because blacks are an inferior race?
Are you proposing that blacks and other colored people are “lagging” in spite of equality under the law and having the same opportunities as whites?

That comment underscores how shallow and tunnel visioned and inexperienced you are.
It’s all a part of the sauce, but it requires looking at the entire picture to appreciate. You can’t isolate, one finger from the other.

Chapter 2
What Is Environmental Justice?

But I know there’s no point in trying to reason with Guy, this is about self-serving goals, gut feelings and conviction and a willful rejection of real world evidence. If there’s a conflict between a belief and physical evidence, the physical evidence gets ignored.

I’m sure the God Guy believes in, believes everything Guy believes, fine that’s what it is.
The thing is in the real world the only thing you have to offer other real people, and society as a whole, that is humanity is strife and pain, death and destruction. Your values as you’ve shared them in these comments is the faith system of vandals. Have at it.

@thatoneguy often starts adding to a thread with something that appears to be useful, thought out, but, when the questions get tough, and the data is examined, he returns to racism.

He uses arguments that assume everyone thinks like he does, like citing, “that theory” that he remembers hearing about. The correlation was there, that’s how studies usually begin. The studies concluded there was a partial effect from lead poisoning, and it included the whole world, BTW, because lead was in the air from gasoline. But, nevermind the science, oneguy only wants to point to someone who tried to blame environmental factors and failed, so he can go back to his favorite theory.

It’s the comforting narrative that allows people to disengage, to not bother trying to find ways to improve themselves, their neighborhoods, or the world.

Well said !

What really worries me is the conviction of their racial superiority.
Or is it fear of being replaced? And that would be a sign of inferiority, no?

Same as it ever was.

Gun violence is a much, much bigger problem in Black communities.

I never said pollution doesn’t exist in Black communities. I said Black dysfunction is not caused by pollution.

Inferior is a strong word but Blacks are very different from Whites.

Right, and that’s pretty shallow and uninformed on your part.

Yes, being forced to live in the hell hole of polluted wastelands has consequences - I’m not claiming where, being forced into the most polluted neighbors, belongs in the hierarchy dysfunction-drivers, but trying to pretend there aren’t negative sociological and physical and psychological impacts from those environmental disaster areas is absolutely delusional.

Everyone is different dependent on the environment they grew up in.

It is all based on evolved survival skills.

You may think that African forest dwellers are simple people, but if it came to surviving in a tropical jungle, I’d prefer a native guide over a computer geek any time.

Or an expedition in the desert, I’d love an native Arab to make sure I don’t die. from thirst or sunstroke.

How about Eskimos that manage to survive 6 months of -45 C. Do you think their survival IQ is lacking in acuity?

Do you know what it takes for a black kid to survive the asphalt jungle of the inner city?

Skills and wits are required in all those environments. Ability to learn survival skills is the ultimate measure of intelligence. The type of acquired skills is dependent on the environment.

Yes, evolution selects for different traits – both physical and behavioral – in different environments. Those traits are mismatched when one group is in an entirely different environment. Survival skills are a different story as they can be learned.

You can believe whatever you want in your mountain town surrounded by other German-Americans, but the fact is most Blacks don’t live in toxic wastelands, and other groups that do live in that environment are not acting like Blacks, so that can’t be a big contributing factor.

Everything can be learned! You really have no clue as to the positive influence black people have had on this society, do you?

All you can see are the remnants of slavery where blacks were forbidden to even learn how to read! And then you accuse them of being ignorant? You need to do some serious soul searching.

If that is the manner you measure intelligence, then you would be stupid in Africa, Arabia, and the North Pole, right?
And how long do you think it would take you to adapt and become skilled at survival in those entirely different environments?

I’d do more research on that before making a blanket statement like that. It’s simply not true.

They really are not. This just shows you haven’t spent much time among Black people and developed a stereotype, probably or mostly by reading racist crap or hanging out with racist people. Due to this association or this relying on sources that are racists, your mind has developed stereotypes, as well as become racist.

SMH what Neil de Grasse Tyson, Barack Obama, and others, many others tell us is that there isn’t any difference between white people and people of colour when it comes to intelligence and other things. However, environment does have a lot to do with how humans develop intellectually, behaviourally, and other ways. If situations were reverse, we’d be seeing what you say of Black people in white people and reverse. The reality is, people of colour are much like white people. They can be very intelligent, average, or not so brilliant. There are gifted Black people (not all are half or less) and there are average ones. It really doesn’t matter what colour a person is. A human is a human.

Isn’t it ironic that in the eyes of ignorant whites, skin color is a mark of intelligence?

I have pink skin and that is why I am smart . You have dark skin and that’s why you are dumb.
The sun decides who is dumb and who is smart.

A perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect!

It’s true that in the US, black youths die by gun violence at a disproportionately higher rate. Globally, this is not true. So, what’s different about the US? That’s the obvious question.
