The Economist's word of the year

Kakistocracy has the crisp, hard sounds of glass breaking. Whether that is a good or bad thing depends on whether you think the glass had it coming. But kakistocracy’s snappy encapsulation of the fears of half of America and much of the world makes it our word of the year.

It seems a most accurate pick for our collective contribution to the world.

I did not knew the word.

My first reflex was to fully approve

If i try to think about it, i am not so sure. They are fully competent to reach their goals, even if theses goals are shitty.

Two quotes

" The last of the capitalists would sell the rope intended to hang him" attributed to Lenin.

“We’ll go down in history as the first society that wouldn’t save itself because it wasn’t cost effective.” – Kurt Vonnegut

Yes, the word was new to me also. And yes, they probably are competent at doing serious harm to the world.
Love the quotes.
