I consider this a public safety issue of importance so I’m sharing. Don’t want to trip into a rant, so I’ll let Pat take it from here. He’s a level headed professional.

Hey Pat, I’m a HAZMAT Captain for a major city. We respond to all EV incidents and are also collecting LIB’s and over packing them for disposal after fires. Last year we lost 4 people in a similar collision.
The crash was deemed survivable after the investigation was done. However, this is exactly what happened to them. The Auxiliary battery caused a fire almost instantly as per witnesses, trapping them inside.
Recently, I responded to a low impact incident involving a tesla. Everyone was out of the car upon arrival, however entry back into the vehicle was impossible.
The card key was inside and the owner tried to open the doors via cell phone and could not as per Tesla, was locked due to accident.Apparently after the collision the doors locked again.
Thankfully no one was injured inside the car. None the less a window had to be smashed to retrieve personal item for Police. This is totally absurd how this vehicle function is even allowed. It is the exact opposite of what other vehicles do. Keep up the great info. (written by a front line responder)
I’ve never been in a Tesla. O did have to deal with the horrendous glare off the “tailgate” once, but that’s about my only Tesla Moment.
Now besides being a bomb, oh multiple bombs, one’s not near as dramatic as the other, still both seem to kill and destroy. Oh, it’s also a trap, electronic locks that die, backed up by a hidden manual unlock, that is hidden? Of course, don’t want to mess with the sleek lines.
Oh and lets not forget the extra strong laminated glass so the stilettos won’t help break the glass, as your dashboard becomes a blast furnace.
What kinds of minds dream up this s&#!
And what kind of indoctrinated sycophants think it’s just awesome?
Let’s do it! Why? Because we can!
Why? Because reality as we know it sucks? I have a better idea.
How’s that working out?
