You go to college to acquire a skill that can provide a good living, but when you finish that school you’re in debt to the average tune of 38,000 dollars plus interest which delays your ability to build your desired goals for another 20+ years!
And to call any effort to lighten that burden so that the student can truly participate in the nation’s economy is vote-buying instead of paying interest on an unavoidable debt?

How about making all education and trade skill training free for everyone who wishes to advance his/her dreams?

There are no other options.
This change is going to take years to accomplish and all we can do is apply all remaining oil reserves to create a new non-oil-reliant economy.
That is all there is today!

I ask you again, if you have a gasoline-powered car, are you ready to park it and never use it again? How will you get to work? Public transportation is still powered by fossil fuels.
Are you ready to spend 50.000 dollars on an EV and then have to look for service stations that will recharge your batteries with “renewable electric energy”?
How about the diesel-powered trucks, trains, and ships that transport goods worldwide. All those necessary transports must be maintained for now and can only be gradually replaced.
We know what happens when the transport of goods stops even for a few months, such as after a hurricane shuts everything down for a couple of months, locally.
Now imagine that situation worldwide.
Now imagine that type of supply crisis worldwide. Wars, pestilence, EXTINCTION!
You cannot just stop using fossil fuels today. They are needed to install a whole new commercial infrastructure.
You are looking at this from too narrow a perspective. This takes a world wide effort!!
And from what I can tell, nobody is stopping using fossil fuels. I am afraid that it will take several decades to switch over. It’ll have to or the world will run out of recoverable oil anyway. The estimated worldwide reserve of recoverable fossil oil will run out in about 40 years. We better have something “in place” when that happens.
