Once again you have jumped the gun

Cops say fake news

the Capitol Police weighed in, stressing that the missive is “NOT an official USCP statement” and that the agency “has no way of confirming it was even authored by USCP personnel.”

Its a statement from member of the Capitol Police who were involved in the Capital Hill Riot.

F$5# the official standing down,

most of our leaders have turned into cowards and slightest political pressure and the back-peddling begins.

They were hiding in there offices ,while the officer where on the line getting the poop kicked out themselves!

THOSE OFFICERS DESERVE TO BE HEARD!

Tell me, are you one of those that thinks it was just another tourist day, Jan 6th, at the Capital that is???

Tell me Sadolina, is there any part of the letter you find misleading? Or factually inaccurate?

This part

“:CAPITAL POLICE SENDS REPUBLICANS A LETTER”

You better get a lawyer son. You better get a real good one

Oh are you claiming it didn’t come from officers working at the Capital during that day?

If so have any evidence?

How about this one?

Here’s a CNBC

Supporters of President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2020, causing Congress to suspend proceedings to confirm the election of Joe Biden as president. The riot turned deadly when a woman who was shot by police died. The outbreak of chaos led to a historic day in America. Here's a timeline of the U.S. Capitol breach, the riot that ensued, and how U.S. lawmakers returned to confirm Joe Biden's victory in the electoral college.

“Oh are you claiming it didn’t come from officers working at the Capital during that day?”

The police chiefs say its not!!

He said it’s not official from this office. He did not write, that it didn’t come from any of his officers. At least, I haven’t found that claim anywhere.

Are you saying that is the claim? Provide a reference: ____________________________

Once again, why not answer, are you thinking it was just another day at the Capital and that anyone upset at heck at what happened, is just a political stunt???

You keep kicking own goals.

In a separate statement, Capitol Police chief of staff Salley Wood also denied any official link to the letter, reiterating that department leadership had no part in writing or sending it.

You said Police sent the letter as if official not “allegedly a policeman or some policemen.”

No I said Capital Police. When a cop tells me to stop that’s official too.

What’s your point? The letter was written by cops on hand that day.

Again, do you think Jan 6th was just another day???

Do you have any respect for authority, our government, the f’n Capital and its governmental functions?

Or are you just another trumpkin lost in space?

"This came from members of the USCP who used official letterhead, but it is NOT a formal statement from the USCP as a whole," the Politico reporter wrote.
I know FOX hates this report, but it stands.

Heck it was at least 40-50 Capital Hill police officers, most in the middle of the nightmare, I’d wager.

But the GOP totalitarians want to pretend it’s nothing and they don’t matter. What happened and fomented and supported that doesn’t matter, they want to move forward to their next set of trumpkin inspired crimes against the American people.

Oh but that Benghazi, that needed over two years of intense investigation, that they admitted was purely political to hit Clinton hard. Your double stand will destroy this country.

In your example you can point to the cop that gave you the direction but for the letter you cant point to any cop.

Why did you misrepresent the Police in your headline??

Not all police can be trusted, just as not all police were in support of the change in presidency. You cannot trust all police either. Some are as crooked as a dog’s hind leg (as the saying goes).

@sabolina, Police in your headline??

Because Capital Police wrote the letter! Of course, I recognize the Republican knee jerk response - it’s called tactical diversion. Focus on anything but the essence of what’s being explained.

In an interview with CBS News, Raskin said he has personally met with 15 or 20 officers since January 6 who were traumatized by the events of that day and are now “very upset that there’s dissension around a bipartisan commission to get to the bottom of the situation.”

“I thought I thought it was something all of my colleagues should be aware of,” Raskin said of the letter. “People should think about this from the standpoint of the line officers who were involved in essentially medieval battle conditions for four or five hours. They were beaten with hockey sticks and pipes and Confederate battle flags and Donald Trump flags and American flags and they were punched, kicked, jostled, spat upon, sprayed in the face with mace. So the least we can do is try to hear them the best that we can.”

Raskin added that he understands the decision of the officers not to go public.

“They’re not accustomed to being political and they’re not supposed to be political, but this is something that affects them directly, that they feel very strongly about, so they have to express themselves anonymously,” he said. “I have no doubt that this is coming from real capitol officers and that they’re speaking for huge numbers of officers who are very upset about the situation,” Raskin said. …

In sum: A member of USCP penned a letter expressing the view of an unspecified number of U.S. Capitol Police Officers that they were “profoundly disappointed” in politicians voicing their opposition to a Jan. 6 commission. This statement did not come from USCP leadership.
Leadership have turned into cowards all the way around!

Read the f’n letter and think about the gut churning substance.

Where do you take issue with this letter that came from a number of Capital Hill Police officers (and I’m not asking about their “cover my ass” boss!):

Not that any totalitarian trumpster could give a flying fart, but just say’n:

Two officers who helped fight the Capitol mob died by suicide. Many more are hurting.

Engulfed in the crush of rioters storming the Capitol, D.C. police officer Jeffrey Smith sent his wife a text that spoke to the futility and fears of his mission.
“London has fallen,” the 35-year-old tapped on his phone at 2:38 p.m. on Jan. 6, knowing his wife would understand he was referencing a movie by that name about a plan to assassinate world leaders attending a funeral in Britain.

The text confirmed the frightening images Erin Smith was watching on live stream from the couple’s home in Virginia: The Capitol had been overrun.
Six minutes after Smith sent that text, a Capitol Police officer inside the building shot and killed a woman as she climbed through a smashed window next to the House chamber. …

Around 5:35 p.m., Smith was still fighting to defend the building when a metal pole thrown by rioters struck his helmet and face shield. After working into the night, he visited the police medical clinic, was put on sick leave and, according to his wife, was sent home with pain medication.
In the days that followed, Erin said, her husband seemed in constant pain, unable to turn his head. …

Smith returned to the police clinic for a follow-up appointment Jan. 14 and was ordered back to work, a decision his wife now questions. After a sleepless night, he set off the next afternoon for an overnight shift, taking the ham-and-turkey sandwiches, trail mix and cookies Erin had packed.
On his way to the District, Smith shot himself in the head. …

He was the second police officer who had been at the riot to take his own life.

Capitol Police officer's widow wants his suicide death declared 'in the line of duty' Howard Liebengood killed himself three days after the Jan. 6 Capitol assault. ByMichelle Stoddart andLuke Barr March 18, 2021

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/capitol-police-officers-widow-suicide-death-declared-line/story?id=76541480

The widow of Howard Liebengood, a U.S. Capitol Police officer who died by suicide three days after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, has sent a letter to her member of Congress, asking she help get her husband’s death be designated as “in the line of duty.”

“After assisting riot control at the Capitol on January 6th, USCP scheduled Howie to work lengthy shifts in the immediate days following. He was home for very few hours over the course of four days,” Serena Liebengood wrote to Rep. Jennifer Wexton, D-Va., revealing details apparently not publicly known.

“Although he was severely sleep-deprived, he remained on duty – as he was directed – practically around the clock from January 6 through the 9. On the evening of the 9, he took life at our home,” she wrote of her 51-year-old husband.

Liebengood called the “reluctance” by U.S. Capitol Police Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman to do so a “wrong which must be rectified,” asking that Congress intervene. …

In her letter, Liebengood outlines her husband’s “warm, gentle, and compassionate” personality and his “devotion” to service in the Senate. “There is no way to convey what our family is going through, as we struggle to simply function in our grief,” Liebengood wrote. “We never could have imagined that we would lose Howie so early in our lives.”

She emphasized that her late husband had deep roots with the Senate.

Liebengood’s father had served for years in the Senate, she said, and even worked as Senate Sergeant at Arms. Liebengood started work at the Capitol as a page, and the Liebengood family totaled more than 50 years of service in the Senate. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell gave an emotional nod to his “friend” Liebengood in an floor speech at the end of former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. …

Yeah, Capital Police Chief Yogananda Pittman, doesn’t seem to have much interest in his officers, then, or now! In true Neo-GOP fashion, covering his butt seems to be all he’s interested in.
