Logic

But for thousands of years Man has been conditioned as if logic and Life are synonymous. -- anan
Well, that was interesting. Most of what you say, seems to me, relies on some very constrained notion of what "logic" is. I don't agree with what you're saying and it's probably because I don't agree with that notion. I'd agree, say, the thing about a prison, sure, if you choose to block out possibilities and not allow yourself the freedom to speculate, that would be a prison. It's also illogical. If you know Star Trek, you seem to be taking a Vulcan notion of logic. Notice how many times their version of failed them, they failed to take in account the emotions of the beings they were dealing with, including themselves.

As for “thousands of years”, I don’t know where you get that. Cultures were tightly wound up with their myths and legends until very recently. We’re still struggling to deal with that.

In a universe of cause and effect, probability is only an indication of a lack of knowledge.
I don't know how many times I run into people who seemingly cannot comprehend this. All we have is the perception of what is, or isn't true. Reality doesn't bend to beliefs, so what you believe means absolutely nothing to truth. I can post this in many ways, but the core of what you said exemplifies the single greatest flaw in what I see in people today.

Reason and rationality are way to see the world. Logic is an intellectual tool.

One can use logic to an irrational view of the world.

That’s not quite right either.

Rationalize

attempt to explain or justify (one's own or another's behavior or attitude) with logical, plausible reasons, even if these are not true or appropriate.
Oxford Dictionaries

All reason and rationale must be logical based on available evidence and knowledge. The fact that all observations are relative, allows for several complimentary perspectives. When any of these fundamentals are in conflict something is wrong with the perception or understanding of the data.
