The intensification of Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s potential collusion with Russia —

has triggered an impassioned counter-narrative from the right. The reaction is seemingly coordinated,
with similar arguments against Mueller appearing in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, Fox News, and Trump’s Twitter feed.
It’s all nonsense.
The purpose of the narrative is not accuracy but distraction. It’s a series of complex, interlocking claims with little connection to reality.
But it’s the best the right can come up with to discredit Mueller and the outcome of his investigation.

They are doing something, Robert Mueller has caught a number of high profile trump people engaging in illegal activity in collusion with Russia. And the charges are good as they’ve already pleaded guilty meaning there isn’t going to be a trial.
So what trump is talking about is someone taking extra-judicial - illegal - action in response to the US legal system working as it’s supposed to.
That’s not something a legitimate US president would do. It is however the exact actions a traitor would take to protect themselves from prosecution.

Early on Monday morning, FBI agents took Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and his aide Richard Gates into custody. The two men were indicted on charges of money laundering and illegal lobbying charges on behalf of Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych (charges to which they pleaded not guilty). About two hours later, we learned that Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos had pleaded guilty to charges of lying to the FBI. He admitted to lying, specifically, about meetings in which he discussed potentially colluding with Russian agents to acquire Hillary Clinton’s private emails.
Put together, the charges against the three men illustrate a clear pattern of using whatever charge you can stand up — even if it doesn’t directly relate to the Russian collusion — to build a case against anyone who was involved, with the ultimate goal of getting the lower-level people to testify against the bigger fish.
You’ve probably heard of this kind of approach in mob movies, but it’s also what real prosecutors do. Experts say that Mueller is adapting this playbook for the Russia investigation.
“The idea that he would go after the campaign manager of the Trump campaign is just extraordinary — it means he must have great confidence in the case against Manafort," says Ryan Goodman, a former Department of Defense special counsel and editor of the legal publication Just Security. “It does compare to prosecutions of organized crime, with respect to going after someone who is legally exposed … and trying to flip them if they have the kind of information that could really break open the case."

fox propaganda is not news when it refuses to cover the fact that one of the president's foreign advisors has pleeded guilty to lying to the FBI and is now giving evidence and two other prominent members of the trump 2016 campaign and a former White House staffer are charged with very serious crimes resulting in a $10 million and $5 million bail. But then fox propaganda pretended that trump firing Comey wasn't obstruction of justice and that Robert Mueller must step down for absolutely no reason.

And Trump “doesn’t have to fire anybody." The key, he explained, is the controversial 2010 decision by the Obama administration to allow Rosatom, a Russian nuclear energy agency, to acquire a controlling stake in Uranium One, a Canadian firm that had a major mining license in the United States. Around the same time, Bill Clinton received substantial speaking fees in Russia, and the nonprofit Clinton Foundation received donations from entities with interests in the Uranium One deal. Republicans contend that this amounts to a quid pro quo that wasn’t sufficiently investigated by Mueller when he led the F.B.I. “Mueller is guilty of obstruction and cover up in Uranium One," Stone argued.
That right there is obstruction of justice, there is no evidence that Mueller was involved in the Uranium One deal. Stone isn't even pretending that Uranium one is not an end run to get Mueller fired to protect trump.
There would be no reason to do any of this if trump was clean, the thing that has trump and his people and some republicans panicked is the very high probability that trump is dirty with Russia and Mueller is going to nail him on it.
