How is sexuality determined?

I read the above and I got to thinking, sexuality is pretty mysterious. People claim that we are “born this way” but is that really the truth? For want of a gay gene there is none to be found and even the experiments to find biological areas for it do not sound convincing. Is it social? Environmental? Biology? Just what exactly is it and what causes it? (There is also a link in the article about another article that I read but could not link here).

So does the whole "born this way" narrative hold any weight though?

Nor is there a heterosexual gene. Were you born with a sexual orientation or did you first investigate all orientaions, think long and hard about every one, and experiment with other orientations before you decided? Was it a struggle deciding? Have you ever thought maybe you chose wrong? LL

So does the whole "born this way" narrative hold any weight though? It should with you if you think you were born to your own orientation and didn't "decide". Did you decide on your own orientation only after long thought and experimentation? Please answer ASAP. It should not be something you have to think about. Lois

I did think girls were pretty as a kid but I didn't really consider that the same could apply to men. Then in middle school onward I began to notice guys like that.

What about the first link I posted
