A catheist is a person raised catholic who does not accept most of what the catholic church requires. It is my understanding that the word atheist was coined to describe non believers and if so, that explains why so many people dislike being associated with the term. There are some good things that people from church communities have done and should be continued. It is my opinion the clergy should be separated from laity in discussions of strict separation of church and state affairs. Modern science is the best answer.
Welcome back grand pa. I’m hoping that someday soon the fact that your ancestors were Catholic will have as much meaning for people currently teenagers born in Chicago care that their ancestors came from some particular village in northern Europe.
