Excellent advice on "inauguration"

Cool, I got another suggestion. Enter your State and US Senator and Representatives phone numbers into your phone. Call and call often since there will be lots and lots of issues. Silly, old fashioned, but it still works when done well.
Voter Backlash Forced Republicans To Abandon Plans To Destroy Ethics Committee. - January 4, 2017 https://trofire.com/2017/01/04/voter-backlash-forced-republicans-abandon-plans-destroy-ethics-committee/ Earlier this week, Republican lawmakers attempted to shut down an independent ethics body that was put in place to put an end to corruption in Washington, D.C. But after countless phone calls and tremendous public backlash, the Republicans withdrew the effort, proving that activism truly does work. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.
"... Tuesday, when this news really broke, voters, citizens, people across the United States got pissed off. They started calling their Congress people, calling their representatives, calling their senators, demanding that the Republicans do not go forward with this initiative to get rid of this ethics panel. You know what happened? It worked. Twenty-four hours after Republicans in Committee voted to get rid of this ethics committee, they backtracked and withdrew that initiative. This means that the public pressure actually worked. The anger that American citizens felt yesterday had a positive result because people got active, people got involved. That’s what’s going to have to happen over the next four years during the Donald Trump years, and the Republican control of Congress years and the Republican controlled Senate years. ..."
Tips on Calling Your Member of Congress http://civilrights.org/action_center/resources/calling-congress.html When you dial 202-224-3121 you are directed to an operator at the Capitol switchboard. This switchboard can direct you to both senators as well as representatives. Once the operator answers, ask to be connected to whomever you are trying to reach. They will send you to your senator's or representative's office line, and a legislative assistant will answer the phone. It is important to let them know why you are calling and what issue you are calling about. You will sometimes be able to speak directly to your senator or representative, but more often you will speak to a staff person in the member's office. This person keeps track of how many people called and their positions on issues, and provides a summary to the member. Be assured that your call does count, even if you are not able to speak directly to your senator or representative. * You can also find the direct number to any member's office by consulting the Senate phone list or House phone list http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm http://clerk.house.gov/member_info/mcapdir.html

That is good advice, the neo-fascists heading to the White House are acting strategically, anyone opposed to them better do the same. This is a war for the soul of the nation, freedom is flicking in the US right now.

Something else that Americans should keep in mind as a neo-fascist movement takes over the nation.

Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) was a prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last seven years of Nazi rule in concentration camps. "First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."
Individualism in moderation is all well and good... but when it gets you annihilated not so much.

If I may introduce a little humor into this tragi-comedy which is unfolding as we speak.

What do they call it when a dictator is installed? It’s not an inauguration.

Carlin - Mind like a razor... Trump - Mind like a fetid turd... If George was still here he would kick Trump's ass, he's real New York, Trump isn't even human. Let's spend the next four years laughing our asses off at the biggest joke to ever sit in the White House...

The pro sanity movement in the US needs a slogan and a rallying philosophy, there was no one better to sum up how fucked up US politics has become than George.
I suggest t-shirts, billboards, newsletters, etc… with the smiling face of George Carlin giving the finger with the caption, “George says ‘Fuck You Donald!’”

And perhaps such a movement has already begun in the "Indivisible" movement. The name itself suggest a profound constitutional imperative. http://www.occupy.com/article/indivisible-practical-guide-resisting-trump-agenda#sthash.z7gfMdqe.dpbs

Liberals and progressives better wake up to the reality that we're at war for our survival against an opponent that truly seems determined to eradicate us. For decades the conservative echo chamber has been vilifying democrats for political purposes, Trump rode the hatred this has created on the far right into office. In earlier republican administrations, it's just mostly been rhetoric, they haven't actually tried to seize complete power and eliminate the left in America. I don't think you can say that about Trump, with his deep seated bigotry and the people he associates with, there's a real danger of some very dangerous things occurring in the next four years. We need to keep our sense of humor and see that what's driving the Trump movement is complete farce, but it has a core of hatred that needs to be quenched. Americans of good will and compassion need to stand up and be counted, I think there are far more of them than the Trump people realize. More people voted for Hillary Clinton even with the interference of the FBI, Russian intelligence and Wiki-leaks. Like with earlier fascist movement, they totally mistake the American character, there's nothing that motivates us more than seeing someone threaten our freedom and values. Even when it's our own government doing it. Remember all those young people who were injured or even killed to make it clear they didn't want Americans killing Asians in SE Asia. The same goes here, I sincerely doubt that many Americans support the kind of totally divisive and destructive policies that almost certainly lie at the core of a movement headed by racists and deeply corrupt corporate zombies.

That speech as been updated:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=108md6719TM Published on Mar 21, 2016 On Monday in Columbus, in advance of Donald Trump's speech, former Vietnam POW U.S. Air Force Colonel Tom Moe (ret.), U.S. Congressman and Iraq War . USAF Col. Tom Moe (ret.) paraphrases German Pastor Martin Niemoller's famous quote in describing the dangers of Donald Trump's goal of dividing Americans.
