He has been tending heavily toward atheism since the year began, but I really hope he finds a way to keep the ear of the believers. He has a lot to offer.

I am not buying into his need to have “faith” in the goodness of the world and mankind. Faith is deciding to believe without regard to evidence. The “goodness” of the world and mankind, as always, is portrayed by the evidence. Belief in some underlying magical goodness implies that there may be some magical evil. It is what it is, based on what the world of mankind actually does.l
