Why? The amount of Temperature rise and the concentration of atm CO2 is not in your road map
No he’s not. He wants a roadmap that maintains a 1% oligarchy. His definition of a sustainable economy is constant growth, the thing that we’ve figured out can’t be sustained.

When that is the entire point of climate science. That is in the IPCC report. It’s a recognition of the problem. The problem is the modern oil based economy. It’s not sustainable. He’s asking for a path that sustains the unsustainable and fixes the problem. That’s caveman logic.

Yes it is.
Solar energy removes CO2 and temperature rise from the equation altogether. We cannot control the climate and make it better, we can only make it worse.
Note the current name for the current climate change: “Anthropocene”
Keep that sequestered CO2 safely in the ground where it can feed flora and produce oxygen.
What is the ceiling for temp rise in all this? What is the atm conc of CO 2 that must be a target not to exceed in this transition?
The target has nothing to do with exceeding any levels. It has to do with lowering the CO2 levels by replacing fossil fuel energy with clean non-polluting energy.
As replacement of fossil fuels progresses, the CO2 levels will diminish and cooling will naturally follow.
The goal must be the elimination of all industrial CO2 pollution, which is the unnecessary cause of AGW.
I clearly said should not be exceeded because there is point when dangerous climate change becomes irreversible and another when life on earth will not exist
So, what do you suggest? More studies or immediately starting the replacement process of fossil fuel with “clean energy” delivery and uses?
The target is the earliest time (now) we can implement and maintain a semblance of coordinated order in the process . These things can be discussed in an afternoon session of Congress.
The sooner we start lowering CO2 and temperature levels , the better it is. There needs not be a discussion of when. That point was passed along time ago.
We are already in the beginning of the 6th Extinction event.

Depends what your target is . The response will be different if you want to keep temp rises below 2 degrees compared to 3 or 4 or 5 so on and so on degrees
And you believe that we can control GW, other than stopping what we do that is causing these current atmospheric conditions AGW ?

Can you begin to understand that targets are long behind us. Our wanton use of a cheap but profitable resource is the cause for this mess. The Earth’s biome is beginning to react and all we can do is hope it’s not already too late for targets.
Solar power is unlimited and free!!! Oh, and non-polluting!!!

I gave you a blueprint that has only one target to replace fossil-fueled energy with clean solar-powered energy as soon as possible.
And it has already taken baby steps with the introduction of EV.
If targets dont matter then the level of warming is not a factor. If you want to keep the rise to a minimum then actions need to be taken much much sooner and much more drastic scaling off FFs. If you dont worry about temp rise you could phase out FFs in slow mode over the next 40 years ( your number) and this will guarantee 3 , 4 , 5 + temp rises

Yes, and that means we are already behind the curve. Action NOW is demanded by the Earth, or it will be a harsh mistress indeed. The recent calls by Republicans for “drill baby drill” is criminal and an act against nature.
While the US is increasing production at this time it is to facilitate the replacement at the same time before we run out altogether and not be prepared for the consequences that will increase every day we hesitate with action, to deliberate?
You can phase out quickly or slowly - over 10 years, or over 20 , 30, 40 years. It all depends in the end goal of how much rise you are willing to bear .
