In about 40 years (1/2 lifetime) there won’t be any more oil!
There are no choices other than to build an energy infrastructure that does NOT rely on fossil fuels, which are inevitably exhaustible.
Solar, wind, and hydro power is the energy that created earth. Can we learn to use it for ourselves as a clean source of power?

You don’t seem to understand the “exponential function”.
There is no choice but to phase out fossil fuels. It will all be gone .
We are on the downslope of the curve of remaining recoverable oil.
~40 years worth is what we have left on oil reserves on earth and if we continue even at current rates of consumption, people of age 30 will see the end of oil and the return to respecting this “living” biometric organism called Gaia and the finely balanced dynamic environment that drives it.

And fewer still understand the exponential function that doubles each preceding total in a given time, based on the percentage of steady growth per year.
At 1% growth, the doubling time of each prior total is 70 years.
At 2% growth, the doubling time of each prior total is 35 years.
At 7% growth, the doubling time of each prior total is 10 years.

Now you’re getting it. The fossil fuel industry doesn’t care about global warming.
It is what gave them fossil fuels to begin with.
It is the fact that we are running out of oil that scares them. Diversification of energy distribution, other than gas-and/or diesel pumps are going to change the major methods of transportation completely.

That is the point I am trying to make. There is no coherent road-map to the changeover, that will inevitably be coming in about 40 years (1/2 lifetime).
China is way ahead in this . They are used to long-range planning in terms of centuries.

It is the very premise of a policy. If humans do not adopt a functional policy within that time, then “natural selection” will decide what will be next and take it out of our hands altogether.

So decisions to adopt can be made in 30 years time? Hell ya lets go 35 . Why not 39?

If a stupid plant can make efficient use of solar energy, it seems like something we can create artificially. And we have started. A little late, but started.
How about trees with fractal leaves consisting of solar collectors? Each tree providing sufficient energy to sustain the entire household. The artificial root system of these trees connected to distribute and share the energy with minimal impact on the environment.
Begin to use our natural global biology in a symbiotic manner with a tenet of “first do no harm”.
The Earth is what makes life possible. Assist the Earth in achieving this biometric.
