Considering the difference between a Democrat or Republican President

This was inspired at a different thread, but what the hell, why bury it.

It behooves the Dems to try like hell to connect Trump to the GOP party that has been in office for awhile. Trump the outrider has a huge chance of defeating Hillary,. Trump the GOP establishment pal has very little chance of winning. Every last detail and fact obviously points to Trump being the outrider, the Dark Horse opposite to McConnel and Ryan etc etc... Have you actually paid attention to any of the facts of this campaign? The GOP hates Trump! Ryan and all the rest. But they have no choice. Actually they do....they'll blow it up on their side and go with Hillary.(not that grudgingly) Hillary is actually someone they can work with. For the real issues. The actual meat and potatoes of politics. Banks, Wall St, Geo-Politicking and military excursions etc...."Democracy Exportation". Hillary is their woman.
V, you seem so wrapped up in your hero worship that you've forgotten about the American system. It's basically run by two parties. For long periods of my life it was often difficult to see the difference between them, sure the Republican dedicated themselves to powered interests, and the Democrat were the working class party, the voice of the people. Nobody lived up to their professed ideals, but at least they professed them and tried to work towards achieving what could be achieved. _______________ But then Glass-Steagall was repealed - Yes V in a totally bipartisan affair lead by Mr. Clinton. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass–Steagall:_Aftermath_of_repeal As feared this ushered in a era of obscene consolidation and conglomeration of banks and corporations, private interests beholden to themselves and the further amassing of wealth to the point of rivaling governments. A free market is only free when there are many participants! This has been steadily eroded. Then, comes a few very deep pocketed individuals to tap into the American workers, pain, frustrations and fears, for their own selfish interests. Thus the birth and rise Tea Party and right-wing extremism (Although we shouldn't forget the rightwing harnessing of the Christian Evangelical movement and all the contrived social craziness {staged distractions} they introduced into our society and government.). most frightening, there was literal juvenile hatred for taxes and government - as though our society can function without it. Rather than constructive dialogue, where both sides take away something useful, it's reduced to childish soundbites and a weird need to dislike and demonize the other. Bring us to today when there are powerful interests with an explicit desire to dismantle our government while ignoring civic realities. I mean folks who are so full of themselves, they think they know God's Will and that that's more important than the fundamental principles and functioning of our pluralistic government and society. ____________________________________________________________ There is more to running our government that thee President. Putting a Democratic in the Presidency, even one like Hillary whom I don't think much of, STill the reality is voting her in will keep the Democrats at the head of the table of the apparatus of government, so to speak within the party that at least tries to acknowledge scientific realities and pluralistic interests. Republicans believe in the vote of the dollar, despises pluralism, thinks their own vision of God is the ultimate truth. They say "Life is Sacred" but think nothing of the reality or implications of bombing out innocent neighbors. Add to all that a growing number actually want to destroy our government as we've known it. I for one think that's insane. I'm certainly not happy with our government, but I sure can't deny our society's dependence on a stable government. A vote for the Democrat is a vote for at least attempting to work out our problems. A vote for the Republican is a vote for a free fall towards anarchy and the Lord of The Flies.

There are always ifs, ands, or buts on those we choose and there should be no one litmus test that makes our final decision. That being said there is one particular item we should all pay attention to. And that one item is who do you want choosing justices for the SCOTUS. There is currently an open seat and the probability is high for two more in less than 5 years. Who is selected for the court could have tremendous consequences on what we and our children will face for decades.

Another reason to keep the paranoid hate saturated Republican Party out of Presidential Office.

Hillary is the scariest threat to personal freedoms since Mussolini. You can’t trust the Republican because they lie as much as the Democrats. Luckily we have another choice, Trump.

Yeah? Is that what your logic tells you? Is that what your heart tells you? Let's look at your choice. Ken Burns did a pretty good review: http://www.centerforinquiry.net/forums/viewthread/18724/
