Whack-a-mole, the “Left” in the title of this thread is what I was referring to.
What “Left” isn’t such a bad question, if you had been halfway serious about it,
it’s a topic I’ve often thought about starting a thread on, because I’ve always considered myself left leaning, but these days too often I hear things said by lefties that make no sense to me and that I could never ascribe to.
So, are you telling me you don’t understand the basics of Left leaning and Right leaning political persuasions.

I used to think I was “Left” because I put humans before profits;
I believe in facts & learning;
I definitely believe our environment need to be nurtured rather than raped for profit to squander on crap;
But these days, I’m being reduced to a pessimist.
And trying to squeeze out a civil intelligent discussion out of you,
simply adds to my sense of utter hopelessness
when it comes to anything beyond my own personal circle,
which still provides enough reasons to go on living, even in the midst of the increasing dystopia surrounding us.
I like the classic definition of liberal that Bertrand Russell is famous for. But, when people say it today, they are generally referring to the Democratic party and recent laws, like civil rights, gay marriage, support of social programs, and general attitudes of inclusiveness and tolerance.
Of course, it’s a spectrum, and there is a lot of agreement among people who label themselves one way or another. In this thread, it’s referring to politicians.

When I was younger I did have some ‘hero’s’ but they tended to fall short in the long run.
For instance, back in the day Ralph Nader was an awesome hero, but then he turned demagogue in 2000, now he deserves to be Dick Cheney’s cell-mate in Dante’s lowest level hell.

Seems like you’re asking this question from the angle that a Left doesn’t really exist in this country.
Hard doesn’t have anything to do with.

But you’d have to take the time to become familiar with what I’ve written.
It’s about climate science, evolution, sciencie stuff and a bit of philosophy,
