Only 11% of Americans doubt or don't believe in the existence of God. Half of Jewish Americans doubt or don't believe in the existence of God. As religious cultures go, that seems rather enlightened to me.

That's an odd suggestion, in that it makes no sense.I mean to say Jews already have a high opinion of themselves, so maybe they worship themselves in place of a god?
In a very loose sense, the same could be suspected of anyone who has a high opinion of themselves, I suppose. But I think that having a high opinion of one's self can be a very good thing, as long as it does not lead to the diminishment or exploitation of others.
