As we’ve concluded in the past, PETA apparently only cares about animals when such “caring” is likely to line the pockets of its rich upper management with donations. As for those unfortunate dogs and cats brought to its Virginia animal shelter each year by people hoping to save them, they’re simply nuisance animals that PETA would just as soon kill as put an effort toward saving.
I have more, if you want to know more, but cats cannot be vegetarian or vegan, despite what PETA wants people to believe. Cats will die if they are forced to go meatless. I raised me sons vegetarian and BTW, my younger son was Dx with high functioning Autism. PETA is wrong about the cause of Autism. They also kill 70% of the pets they shelter per year. No Kill Shelters are far better and they avoid handing them over to kill shelters even if they become full. PETA is also associated with ALF and ELF radical groups. This is not the only source that says this. If you research it, you will find more.
They are also bullies towards those who tell the truth about them. Oh and the last one is also vegetarian, like myself, sharing her research which is also what I found about PETA too.
PETA’s comparison of slaughtering animals to the Holocaust was the worst! And it was wrong in many people’s opinions. They did the same with slavery, women, and more.
Actually, no they have not. They’ve killed more animals than they saved. That’s not doing more for animal rights. That’s not doing anything. I maybe a vegetarian, but I have no respect for Ingrid Newkirk or PETA. I have more respect for No Kill Shelters. Also, if PETA won’t stop until every animal is spaded or neutered, isn’t that a form a genocide? If all of them do get spaded or neutered, there’s no more offspring, which leads to extinction. That’s a rather scary thought to me. However, that said, I do spade or neuter my cats. The only one I didn’t was a beautiful Siamese mix. She never had kittens because she was indoor 24/7 and I never found her a mate I was willing to let her mate with. Unfortunately, when she was 5 years, because she didn’t mate while in heat, she got an infection had to have a hysterectomy and that is what the vet called it. She died of kidney cancer when she 10 years old. I haven’t had another cat I wanted to find a mate for since her. The fact is, PETA has done nothing for animal rights and has killed more than they’ve helped and trying to genocide all cats and dogs, possible all animals. IF they could rid the world of all animals, other than humans, they probably would. They can’t be trusted. The other thing is, they also contributed to alcoholism with their anti-dairy campaign- “Got Beer?” One of the dumbest campaign they ever had.
If you truly believe they’ve done more for animal rights than any other organization, name one thing they’ve done that’s helped other animals? I bet you can’t name one thing that was helpful, unlike the ASPCA, which far better than ignorant PETA that attempt to kill cats by saying cats can be vegans. That is totally stupid, because that kills cats. Cats are obligated carnivores and cannot live without a high meat diet.
Thats disinformation. They aren’t a shelter, they offer euthanization services to other shelters. See, people don’t adopt from high kill shelters, so PETA supports them by being the bad guy and euthanizing the ‘unadoptables’ so local shelters can claim ‘no kill / low kill’ and people will adopt.
Animals they rescue from abusive and neglectful situations, they euthanize if that’s the most compassionate route. The ones who are able to healthily recover are referred to actual animal shelters to be adopted.
Euthanizing suffering animals isn’t the problem, people who abuse and don’t neuter their animals are. PETA does a lot of good, even in their euthanization.
No, in Virginia, they are a shelter and besides, even if they weren’t, then how is euthanizing every animal, including healthy ones, saving animals or working for their rights? IF what you said is true, then they are doing exactly what they accuse others of doing when they speak of concentration camps and alike.
You just showed you have not idea about what you are talking about when you insist they are doing something for animal rights. They are not. All they are doing is leading animals to extinction, which is what Ingrid Newkirk really wants.
And no, it is not safe to feed cats a vegan diet unless you want to kill your cat.
If you want to kill a cat, then force them to eat vegan. My scientific evidence is the vets I had over the course of many different cats and every vet has said they are obligated carnivores. I’ve had cats that lived 15 years. What you show is just one study that looks to me to be a BS study. I am not going to kill my cats by forcing them to be vegetarians. That would be stupid.
That said, once I adopt a cat, it is their forever home. I don’t surrender it and I don’t abandon it. That said, I do know of No Kill Shelters that do not give any of the animals they shelter to kill shelters. In fact, they also have foster homes for the cats and dogs, so overcrowding in these No Kill Shelters really doesn’t happen.
PETA doesn’t have jack and they don’t know jack. They need to be shut down because they are not an animal rights group. They are animal rights extremists, and the rights part is questionable. They associate with extremists such as ALF and ELF. If Ingrid could, and she is on record saying this, she admires ALF and ELF and if she had the guts she’d burn down labs too. This would in effect do the complete opposite of what she says she does. It wouldn’t save animals at all. She’s not a vet and she has no idea what the hell she’s talking about and neither do you.
