Will Social Security and private pensions be next?

Will Social Security, private pensions and IRAs and 401s be next now that Congress has given in again to corporate and banking interests? And here you thought the US Government was strong and reliable and could be depended upon to protect individuals’ interests.
“More than a million retired and current truck drivers, construction workers and other union workers could see their pension benefits cut now that Congress passed a proposal aimed at shoring up some of the nation’s biggest pensions.”
Tacked on as an amendment to the government’s $1.1 trillion spending bill, the proposal was approved by the Senate late Saturday night.

Now more than ever we have a government “of corporations, by corporations and for corporations (and the uber rich),” and we as individual citizens will never be able to depend on the “full faith and credit of the US government” ever again.
What say you? Have we all been completely screwed in this land of “the brave and the free” with “liberty and justice for all”?

Perhaps they should tax political contributions to make up the short-fall of funding for the PGB.
