Religion is an evolved fight or flight response. The first gods were imagined by the common ancestor of man and the other great apes.

Today, during a thunderstorm, we can observe an alpha chimpanzee trying to defend his family from the “unseen powerful beings” in the sky that are making loud noises and throwing fire and water from the sky. This is how the first gods were born, A perfectly logical survival response in a hominid with a relatively advanced brain some two hundred thousand years ago.

This is contrary to any concept of loving gods . These were beings to be feared and appeased with sacrifices.

It was a first attempt to explain natural phenomena as something that was caused by unknowable living beings high in the sky. Zeus and Thor were two of such early gods.

Religion does not bestow understanding of the universe. Religion is mythology that has given rise to some 4000 religions and thousands more gods.

If you believe in one god you are atheist of 3999 gods . Do you see how that weakens your position?

Moreover, there are plenty of examples of love among and between species that have no idea about gods.
First there are symbiotic relationships between pollinating insects and flowering plants.
Then there are many examples of friendships formed between natural enemies.

Love emerges when there is no need for fear. Religions instill fear. Therefore they cannot teach love.

Even today scientist admit that religon help in someway to create technology. Scientist copy mythical animals to make weapons and some ancient myth explained how atomic weapons in the past or celeistal powers gods have gave way for man to invent weapons.

Man itself is not the creator of itself.

That is why God existed because man without religion would be in the dark not knowing the truth only God gave the truth that they belong to him. Man will war day and night people would of been in the dark ages forever that’s why without religion science will not advance. The catholic church even though I do not like it gave way for science to grow.

So any way A scientific community would not of been establish of not by A religious athority sad but true and still if we say in A world that say we invente in a parralel universe and we had all the history that happen here in our world and happen in that world science would of not existed it would of been banned and forbbiden. Freedom didn’t won’t exist and people would of still live in the caves.

I’ve critiqued articles like that in the past and don’t have time to repeat it. Any type of authoritarianism would have, and in fact has done, the same thing as religion. Kings were considered gods in some cultures. God only ever gave us anything through the voice of prophets, so who was really speaking?

But for a 1000 years religion has denied the function of Darwinian “evolution via natural selection” .

Only recently did the Pontifical Academy of Science admit that evolution is true.

No, man copied existing animals such as birds or frogs for scientific experiments.
Note that mythical creatures never existed . That’s why they are called mythical.

That is true. But neither is God. Humans are a result of a chromosomal mutation in a common ancestor of humans and other great apes (hominids). That mutation allowed for growth of a more complex brain in humans and that is how humans split away from other great apes.
The proof lies in the chromosome count.

The concept of a creator God (as described in the bible), is incompatible with the scientific account of the beginning and evolution of the universe. You cannot have it both ways.

No they do not.

Where do you get your information? None of that is true.

No, it is with religion that we’d be in the dark. Remember the Dark Ages? That’s thanks to religion and it was science that got us out of the dark. Without science, we’d be in the dark.

Actually, religion has caused so many wars and very little peace. Science does not create wars. Science has been oppressed by religion more often than not. If not for religion, science would have taken us a lot farther than we are now.
