Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion

Here’s a strange but captivating art project.
Coming from the era where we grade school kids had regular A-bomb drills where we were taught to hunker down under the desk
with ass towards the window, arms over head. I found this a thought provoking visual experience - sure got me to musing about all that wasted effort and resources.
Yea, but now, when we got a real threat to face like thoughtful adults (global warming) and what happens; we collectively run and hide.
{And now we got folks in our nation hot to foment a civil war.}
Oh, but I digress, have any of you seen this video, it takes a little patience, but
if you’re in a rush you can see a country by country recap that’s only about a 1.5 minutes long - starting at 12:00 minutes.

A Time-Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Since 1945 - by Isao Hashimoto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLCF7vPanrY A Japanese artist named Isao Hashimoto has created a series of works about nuclear weapons. One is titled "1945-1998" and shows a history of the world's nuclear explosions. Over the course of twelve minutes, every single one of the 2053 nuclear tests and explosions that took place between 1945 and 1998 is plotted on a map. Then at 12:00 he does a minute and a half high speed recap nation by nation. ~ ~ ~ http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2010-07/6/japanese-artist-nuclear-weapons Japanese artist maps 1945-1998's nuclear explosions Story by Duncan Geere

Sorry for late response. CC thank you. That was mesmerizing. I love this kind of thing.

I’ve showed this to several people and the response is always the same, jaw dropping. Most say they thought we just exploded two! Now wih North Korea posturing that they will launch missiles at American installations in S. Korea it brings nuclear weapons back in the news, and our lives. This shit’s gotta go. I ducked under too many desks as a kid and don’t think for a minute that it didn’t have a psychological effect on the baby boomers. We lived in a very dangerous World.
