Late last year one "Poptech" and I engaged in debating the validity of various aspects of climate science. It didn't go so good for Poptech and his misrepresentation and omissions. However, rather than considering any of the information I was offer that clearly disputed his claims. He ran off to the comfort of his "clubhouse" and typed out a blistering attack on me. In that attack he did he internet research well and used a few discussion threads from here at CFI to weave his tale of chilling character assassination.
I only found out through a tip from an internet friend of mine and then having another debate-mate us it to attack me in another discussion. As you could expect I publicly confronted the bullshit. I reproducing the entire text of Poptech's January 30th diatribe, filling in some missing details and correcting some lies.

Oh boy, talk about desperation to dig up shit, well they dug and they dug and oh the facts and links they've unearthed. But, even more impressive than what they unearthed - is the bizarre theatrical spin they put on everything.
All dedicated to maligning me and ignoring the evidence and the ideas I challenge them with. What they deliberately ignore is that I'm just a messenger talking about the science and I am always ready to support my claims with references back to the authoritative science I learned from. If you don't believe me, try me.
On the other hand these clowns spend all their effort putting their fantastical labels on people and spinning hallucinatory yarns while claiming superiority and victory... as though it's their's to claim. They make lots of noise about the science, yet they never produce any serious science when they are challenged. Instead it always reverts to a malicious mud fight. It's worth making a big deal about because powerful leaders like Inhofe and Barton and the rest hide behind this sort of insanity to justify doing nothing and wasting precious time.
I've copied Poptech's "Truth about WUWTW" and pasted it below and diluted the 'horror' with some more facts and commentary. I eliminated some links, but I kept most, to be honest it was cool revisiting some of those pages.

The History of Day-Break Geriatric Massage Institute
The Day-Break Geriatric Massage Project was founded by Dietrich Miesler in 1982. Now known as the Day-Break Geriatric Massage Institute, the organization currently has four accredited instructors who teach weekend workshops in Geriatric Massage. Day-Break is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB), by the Florida State Massage Therapy Association (FSMTA), and also by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC).
In June of 2000, Dietrich retired from active practice and continued to research and write. The operation of the Institute is now in the capable hands of Dr. Sharon Puszko, now the Owner and Director of Day-Break.
His life’s journey began in Breslau, Germany, on July 20, 1925. On May 22, 2006, Dieter Werner Miesler departed on that greatest of trips following complications of pneumonia and long standing Parkinson’s disease.
Dietrich entered the massage field in 1975 and founded the Day-Break Geriatric Massage Project (currently known as the Day-Break Geriatric Massage Institute) in 1982. With a background as a gerontologist and a nursing home administrator, he brought significant knowledge and caring to his elderly clients through therapeutic massage. He produced numerous courses and teaching aids about the muscle system and massage treatments tailored to geriatric clients with varying needs. He was also a long-time columnist for Massage & Bodywork Magazine.
Dietrich left his native Germany in 1955 and moved to the United States, where he raised his five children and pursued his varied artistic interests, including jazz, photography, and publishing. In 2001, he left Day-Break to focus on research and writing.
We will miss his irrepressible, witty, charming spirit.

It wasn't overreaction. It's exactly the same way every other rational American citizen reacts to Trump supporters. In order for it to be an overraction it would have to be a lot more than other citizens react, and it isn't.

Agree 100 percent. Funny how from 3rdside's point of view pointing out Donald Trump's business failures, misogyny, racism, narcissism, mocking a disabled reporter, ad naseum is written off as "splitting hairs," then 3rdside turns around and slanders another forum member and sees nothing wrong with it. I have seen that behavior from conservatives many times; when you don't have facts to back your arguments resort to personal attacks and lies. 3rdside has crossed over any line of decency into obvious abusive behavior.
