The origin of Camels

This is truly amazing and will change your mind about the origins of camels. Would you believe if I told you camels existed in the most northern parts of North America?

About the same time that arctic camel lived, our precursor human family was shifting/expanding its diet.
“…Prior to about 3.5 million years ago, early humans dined almost exclusively on leaves and fruits from trees, shrubs, and herbs—similar to modern-day gorillas and chimpanzees. However, about 3.5 million years ago, early human species like Australopithecus afarensis and Kenyanthropus platyops began to also nosh on grasses, sedges, and succulents—or on animals that ate those plants…”

It is not known what caused that, no doubt, important dietary change, that was exclusive, among mammals, of the time, to the human-ish mammals.
