The impossibility of "original sin"

Here is a head start,

@Widdershins

I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts on cults and alternative religions, and it seems fucking ridiculously easy to start one.

As I have said before, I think my ex could have really been a cult leader if he had done a couple things right.

You know when was the best time though? The 1800s. From Mormonism to Spiritualism, you could make anyone believe anything.

Ooh, lyrics. I hadn’t thought of adding those.

Dammit, knock it off! I don’t have time to do this and I already REALLY want to!

There are hundreds of quotes

His Bible will write itself

You know The Satanic Bible is full of plagiarized shit from Ayn Rand and Redbeard’s “Might Is Right,” right? How long do you think it took Anton LaVey? Bet he did it in a weekend. And look where it got him.

Do it!!

Do it!!

And thus passes a perfectly good Widdershins, into the business of religion building.

Hey, at least mine wouldn’t be based on lies and self dealing. Unlike most preachers out there I actually worship my god. But, unlike the Satanic Bible, plagiarizing Ozzy is unlikely to get me paid, though it IS likely to amuse Ozzy.

Just don’t call it “Bible of Ozz,” because there already is one.

Ozzy Osbourne Bible of Ozz CD and collectors book 1989. It includes pictures, notes and lyrics

This seriously happens to me every single time. When I was in college I invented the optical mouse. True story. I then found the first one I had ever seen on a bench at college the very next day. I had never heard of it before. A couple of years ago I invented a way to use the fingerprint scanner strip on laptops for scrolling. But this time I knew better and I looked it up. Simpson’s did it!

@widdershins

It must not have been God’s will, then.

But don’t worry! When someone closes a door, God opens a window! God has a wonderful plan for your life! Don’t lose faith!!

That is another one of those simply laughable concepts. If God’s will is going to be done anyway, why do we pray for things? And it certainly makes no sense to pray that God’s will be done because that’s going to happen regardless.
