In the life’s little victories department, my proposal was approved at the caucus level and today at the county assembly, and it’s part of the 2022 La Plata County’s DNC Platform, to compete at the State Assembly in about a month, for the Colorado DNC Platform, which heads on to the National Convention.

Resolution 6 :

The La Plata County Democratic party resolves support for the Colorado Democratic Party to create an Online Discussion Forum for reinvigorating constructive political dialogue, by Democrats, for Democrats. We further resolve that this will help your Democratic grassroots network get informed, thus enabling and nurturing a reengagement with our political process.

Slim chance, still better than doing nothing, and worth the effort if it gets people talking about it. :wink:

It’s a shame too few see the possibilities. Still, you see life is about moments of opportunity, they open and close rapidly. There is one moment of possible right now, to discuss trying something substantive. Who should discuss it? Every thinking person who cares about American society, and is scared poopless, but still wanting to grasp at any possibility to get an avenue where constructive solid discussion, education, networking has a chance. Sure, it’s pretty near hopeless - but in this one moment, there is a sliver of opportunity, just takes a little passion and time and deep-down concern for the future.

{After all there’s always a morning after, and this sort of networking and cross fertilization of ideas that a well run Democrat Online Discussion Forum would enable is about people to connecting with people.
I can’t image I’m the only Democrat out there who feels tossed out in the desert wondering alone, wondering where the hell are the others of real substance??? A Democrat Online Discussion Forum would allow us to finally get to know the friends we just hadn’t met yet. Or something like that. }

Incidentally, ours was the only precinct where our leaders insisted on keeping the in-person caucus, since so many of us believe it is part of the fabric of this small community.

Being rural, we had all of 17 attendees at our caucus, besides being part of the democratic process, it’s also part social event where we get to reconnect with folks, with distant neighbors, who’s paths we don’t normally cross, meeting new folks who have moved in, swapping a few stories on the side. There always seems to be a small potluck buffet, so we’re always breaking bread together - and that makes a difference too. Mind you, wide open rural landscapes creates a different dynamic between neighbors.

At the county meeting via zoom there were 115 delegates culled from all who attended the caususes.
