The Democratic Party Caucus Forum - Why not DNC?

Oh if wishes were horses and I had tons of money, then someone at Democratic headquarters might actually listen to a suggestion, we could talk it around until a big wig decides to steal the idea for himself, and make it happen. Politics at its best.
Now it’s the proverbial, p …
But at least I made a realistic suggestion.

Democratic Party leaders how will you start reconnecting with alienated voters whose budgets won’t allow for constant political donations?

DNC’s never ending assault of political donation demands, they have become counter productive. We need ideas and community and encouragement.

What’s worse is the melodrama, rarely do those texts communicate any constructive information.

We need substantive helpful information. We need something to want us to get engaged.

A suggestion, why not a private Democratic discussion forum, so the DNC can communicate with interested voters, also interested Democrats can start meeting and brainstorming and engaging and networking with likeminded.

Give us something to help build some tangible feeling of solidarity.

WE the people need a well organized - and superbly moderated -
online Democratic Party Members Only Discussion Forum.

Democratic Party Members only - clear concise intelligent guidelines.

Participants fill out applications, with honest identity & self chosen screen-names.

Agree to abide by the established guidelines.

Good moderating will be key to success.

Bill it as the “Democratic Party Caucus Forum” - in honor of the memory of our one time proud tradition of lively Precinct Caucus Meetings.

For a nice example of how this can look, check out Center For Inquiry Forum at forum.centerforinquiry.org - Admittedly CFI Forum is tiny, but it’s the layout, how it operates, and the spirit of the place, that could inspire a scaled up effort. Or to say it another way,

Dear Democratic Party (callers) . . . (Sept. 2022)

Give America’s untapped concerned citizens a place to go for sharing their own stories, ideas, concerns, questions, challenges.

The Forum would be public, though I think it would be appropriate to limit commenting and posting privileges to registered Democrats. It would require a short set of clearly spelled out guidelines. Participants would need to sign up and agree to abide by the forum’s rules and standards. Moderators would be of critical importance to the DNC’s Discussion Forum’s success - fair, consistent, with a flair for humor, touch of empathy, and an instinct for constructive resolution and steering dialogue back on point .

I’ve been participating at “forum.CenterForInquiry.org" for many years and they provide an excellent example of how such a Forum could be organized and operated. CFI is small, a Democratic Party Online Discussion Forum could serve as a nucleus for some serious community building and it would grow as Democrats across the country discovered a place to speak out, hear new voices, to learn and to network within the Democratic Party organization.

Politically interested citizens have few opportunities for connecting with others, provide us with a trustworthy adult discussion platform for constructive dialogue among concerned individuals, I can’t think of a better way to rapidly increase awareness, and reinvigorate a disillusioned Democratic grassroots.

After all, for all its faults the Democratic Party is all we have! We need to focus on fixing it, rather than abandoning what little remaining political muscle we the people have.

The onslaught of texts, has not abated so since I have no money I’ll hone my message and give the DNC another tip - trimmed down a tad:

Please realize your relentless deluge of fund raising texts - filled with melodramatic to hysterical messaging - is counter-productive.

If the Democratic Party isn’t changing minds, we are losing!

DNC needs to inform, engage, and motive us! These constant texts do nothing but irritate and worse - they drive people away because we are tapped out. Instead, why not help us regular grassroots people network with likeminded Democrats to raise awareness. Let’s recapture the sense of the community spirit that once fueled our democracy.

We need substantive helpful information and connection building.

A suggestion: Why not a private Democratic online discussion forum.

This would enable the DNC to communicate directly with interested voters; it would be a platform to inform, engage, motivate and help us network directly with likeminded.
Give us something to help build a little tangible feelings of solidarity.

WE the people need
A well organized, superbly moderated, Members-Only Democratic Party Discussion Forum.
Clear, concise, and intelligent guidelines.
Verified participants with real identities and self-chosen screen names.
A commitment to abide by the rules - or leave.

Key to success: excellent moderation. The forum must be led by even-handed consistent moderators with a flair for humor, empathy, and mediation skills - steering discussions back on point. Bill it as the “Democratic Party Caucus Forum” - honoring our once-proud tradition of lively precinct caucus meetings.

For inspiration, check out the Center For Inquiry Forum - while small, it exemplifies a well-run, structured discussion space with a positive spirit. As Democrats across the country discover a trusted place to speak, listen, learn, and network with party, it will naturally grow.

Politically engaged citizen have few opportunities to connect. Providing a trustworthy, adult discussion platform for constructive dialogue could rapidly increase awareness and reinvigorate a disillusioned grassroots.

The dems at their lowest point in polls with chuck caving in to the Republicans

The Democrats enabling act . This is a complete and utter shock that the Democrat Party would enable the Republicans and Trump regime!

There is a huge political difference between them. After all, the Democrat Party is the party of the Gaza Genocide (among other crimes). This is opposed to the Republicans, who are the other party of the Gaza Genocide.

Seriously though, is there anyone that still believes that the Democrats and Republicans are not merely two wings of the same bird, two factions of the same American Empire?

Of course the Democrats will enable the Republicans. That is what they are designed to do.

It would be a shock if the Democrats didn’t do so

Be prepared to be shocked. Your platitudes are worthless.

This enabling act from the part of Democrats reconfirms once again that a party that shares a common social and class interests with rival oligarchical faction cannot possibly be the true voice of opposition against the Trump dictatorship. For they simply sold the working class to the wolves. The spread of rank and file committees today have become a necessity to fight back against this bankrupt reactionary wave. In the end this ongoing chaos in itself is the direct product of Capitalism in deep crisis. As the great Italian Marxist theorist Gramsci had said during his time"The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born, now is the time of monsters"

But sadly so appears to be the Democrat Party backbone and vision and actions that motivate, inform, and engage their grassroots. Though, I’ll keep waiting and hope for something. And admittedly I’ve wrapped myself in a news bit isolation cocoon - what I think don’t matter and thinking about the details of the current vandalism would make my head blow, how we came to this is appalling; laziness, apathy, lack of appreciation of what we had, etc.

Twobits is irritating because of the glee, I read between his lines. I know there are a lot of people that believing burning down our government is a great idea.
The word idiot was created for a reason. Sure it ain’t going to win any votes saying that -
but who cares about anything at this point anymore - we as a society seem past the point of rational reflection - we’re all frozen into inertial and don’t seem to possess the will or wherewithal to do anything about it … The impression of a deer with eye’s fixated on the oncoming truck lights flashing in my mind.

It was true until Trump disrupted the game.

And even true, in the past, Dems were more attentive to the people.
