Sunday NBC News special will focus on Climate Change… er, global warming

It's About Time Someone On TV News Covered Climate Change Like This The Huffington Post | by Catherine Taibi Posted: 04/04/2014 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/04/ann-curry-climate-change-network-news-nbc-abc-cnn-fox_n_5090207.html?ir=Green In a one-hour documentary on Sunday, Ann Curry will be reporting on an angle of climate change that is scarcely found on TV news: that "there is virtually no debate among climate scientists"--climate change is real and "largely caused by human activity." Curry will travel to areas high and low in the world, from the Arctic to the Florida seas, and speak to eyewitnesses of the devastating consequences of climate change, NBC News announced Thursday. In a year that has seen a controversially low number of climate change reports from TV news networks, Curry's report is among the few this year to draw a direct connection to human influence. Huge climate change reports and potentially catastrophic findings have been largely ignored by networks like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. NBC News, however, was among one of the only networks this week to give significant attention to a UN report released Monday on how climate change is dramatically impacting the planet. ...

Will they give equal time to deniers? Lois

Sure, just as soon as the networks give equal time to atheists to match the non-sponsored religious programs.

Decent program, hopefully many people watched it.

Well done Anne Currey. She presented visual evidence of AGW, e.g. The grey patches on icebergs are caused by suet from CAlifornia wildfires. All of the climatologists interviewed save one agreed that we’re reshaping the planet. Also an interesting discussion on growing crops using less water. They had better being planting in the Southwest soon.

The one dissenter only had problems with the new theories and making direct links to specific events from the overall global warming event. But they had already presented so much about the total increase in wild fires and extreme weather that deniers are basically left with a meaningless statement about how I can’t say that a hot day in July is caused by global warming or not. They’re right, I can’t say that, nor can they say that the ocean is not higher.

Which it is BTW. At least one foot higher and slowly rising. The graphics shown in the documentary should be of major concern to most of us globally as the majority of people live by the oceans, seas and rivers. Miami and New Orleans are doomed unless they can construct gigantic sea walls. Cap't Jack
