Republican lies about representing the poor and working class

Good article. It explains much of what causes the right/left divide, why the Republican party is considered the party of the wealthy and how the it demonizes the working class while pretending to help it. It’s the tip of the iceberg.
Republicans’ biggest white lie: that they represent the working class
“We saw it during the campaign in Donald Trump’s promises to return blue collar jobs to poor, rural Americans even as Trump products continued to be manufactured overseas; during the transition with his early pick of a labor secretary known for opposing the minimum wage; and we saw it again just this week in a leading Republican’s insistence that poor people must choose between buying a new smartphone and having health insurance.”

Or watch Requiem of The American Dream with Noam Chomsky. What is happening now is the result of an intentional plan to take most political and economic control out of the hands of the majority of Americans and give it to what Adam Smith referred to as the master of mankind...the people with great wealth and power. Things are not going to get any better when billionaires are ruling over an America they have intentionally weakened to the point of failure because the idea of genuine democracy scares the shit out of them. In fact they will get progressively worse until the nation itself fails, which when you consider what is now in the White House and what is in control of Congress isn't that far away. The American dream is just about dead and it was killed by assholes who don't have a clue that to actually function a society needs to be based on sharing not stealing everything not nailed down.

The Republicans are ROFL over that one. Hoo wee!

They take the path of least resistance because it might actually cost them something to be as truthful and awake as Chomsky is.

Yup, but they have the punch line to every bad joke sitting in the White House right now...
