Anybody else catch this recent post by Sam?] It’s the best 25 minutes from an atheist I’ve heard in a long time. By being in the middle of the current controversies, Harris has a vantage point and an analysis that few others do. Others, who seem to be just trying to sell books, like Reza Aslan, hurl insults from the safety of the bleachers. Among other things, Harris points out that we must be able to criticize our governments and our religious leaders, but there is a difference between that and misrepresenting someone’s words with inflammatory cheap shots. It’s a debate at the heart of the limits of free speech, or just what free speech means.
